Just went on the footman- James website- filled in the data and then it came up saying it could not quote me insurance. Totally clean licence and nothing untoward yet they cannot quote me. Company is a joke!!!!!!

Try Classic Line , I trawled all the usual suspects and they came up with good quote. Guaranteed valuation certificate and breakdown / recovery included.
Good luck , getting insurance quotes is always a lottery as they have more tricks than a barrow load of monkeys Doh

Re: Car Club Members Insurance Scheme

I agree, Footman James is a joke: in all my years of owning classic cars I have had quotes at various times from them and not once have they been anywhere near competitive, I never bother with them now at all.

I'll give another vote for Classic Line though: I have 3 cars with them and have used them for several years now. Whenever I have rung around for other quotes at renewal time no other company can beat them and most are not even close. I have a friend in the insurance business who wanted to quote for my cars, so gave them the chance with the Lambo renewal. The feedback after they had tried all they could to even match it, was that my quote was incredibly good and they couldn't get close.

Strangely though, my Corvette is with Admiral on a multi car policy and they have proven extremely competitive on it, although I'll give Classic Line a whirl with it this year.

Interesting. I have 3 cars insured with Admiral and when I got the C3 Corvette (middle of 2016) I rang them to add the Corvette to my multi-car policy and they said they didn't do imported American cars. Confused

So I had to insure the Corvette separately. Still, it was a good price on its own, working out cheaper than any of my individual cars are with Admiral.
