Re: Ignition Festival of Motoring - Glasgow

Graham: Bill Moss CCCUK Events boss organised the layout Thursday PM. I got "stuck" in the middle. Turned out to be the prime position ! Especially as it is a new triple black C7. 'Course it shows fingerprints more than any other colour as I found.! Saturday and Sunday were really busy. Went to sleep hearing "how fast does it go mister" And "can I sit in it".
Excellent show....if anyone didn't go this year you must next time..

Re: Ignition Festival of Motoring - Glasgow

My thanks to all the committee and Bill moss for letting me attend the Glasgow show, it was a privilege to show off my red 1971 big block on behalf of the CCCUK.
Yes all the cars in attendance were driven there. Mine and Allen's where driven the 150 odd miles there in the poring rain, so once the stand was set up we spent the next five and a half hours re cleaning them. ( I hate a dirty car ). the show was fantastic, met some really nice people that where interested and pleased to see our cars, with lots of comments about corvettes, it certainly put the brand out there, nice to meet a few Scottish members also and possibly a few new ones. My thanks also go to Robert, our Glasgow member and his lovely wife Lorna for hosting a BBQ on Saturday evening at their pad, food was delicious and drink plentiful.
Keith. Clap

My corvette will pass anything on the road, except a gas station.

It was remiss of me not to acknowledge the efforts of Bill Moss in my previous posting, Thank you Bill for your hard work. Also to confirm thanks to Robert, Lorna and Adam for their "Barbie" with a wonderful selection of very edible [unburnt despite Robert reckoning he burns everything] delicious food. Special thanks for the Newkie brown ale [especially for me]. Very enjoyable long weekend despite the Scottish weather. The rain stopped before reaching England. Clap

Re: Ignition Festival of Motoring - Glasgow

Attending the Ignition Festival of Motoring in Glasgow was always going to be a bit of a gamble.

Most Club Members live miles from Scotland, but thanks to the efforts of Allen, Keith, Mike, Ian and Robert we were able to put on a pretty impressive display.

From the reaction of many visitors entering the Car Clubs Hall I don't think they were expecting to see Corvettes at the show, and we certainly got more than our fair share of them coming to admire our cars - not only that but all our car owners went the extra mile to give a friendly welcome even allowing the kids to sit in the drivers seats.

We definitely made a good impression on Glasgow

Another success for our Club Yes

Having a lot of bhp is all very well, but on these forums it's torque that counts

Allen, Keith, Bill, Mike & Sheila. Thanks for taking the time to come up to the show in Scotland. The BBQ was the least I could do after you turned my drive into a Corvette heaven - 4 vettes parked on my drive was beautiful. Also thanks to Ian for making his car available for the show. A great time was had by all. Thumbs up

Delighted to be on the stand. Well organised by Bill. A bit of red tape to go through but all worth it in the end. Many people amazed there were Corvettes on display.
