Re: Very inactive here

Having a quiet day today at work, and time to reflect on a few things.

Here in Scotland, we have a large population of American vehicles, hotrods and Corvettes. Most I suspect are purchased for the owner to be part of a specific social group or scene..

For me, its simply 100% about the car, nothing else. I bought a C4 because that's what I wanted, and for no other reason. It wasn't a compromise because I couldn't get something else. I bought a C4 for all its good reasons like decent mpg, less rust hassles and torque. It suits my requirements, emotions and finances very well.

I do wonder though, if there were no CCCUK or Forum, how many current owners would have Corvettes today? Which is the most appealing part of the whole experience, the car, and/or the social scene?

Steve - are you aware that we now have a Scottish Rep for you Vetteheads North of the Border. Robert McMurray is his name and he owns a early C3. Be good to get a few new members in the club to support him Yes ..........just saying Rolling Eyes

Re: Very inactive here

I hear you Ross and I am thinking about it.

Distance is still an issue for me as Glasgow/Central Scotland is a 120mile/4hour round trip for me and not all on decent roads either.

There are however a good few Corvette owners in and around Glasgow. It all depends what and where.

The meets like Tartan Tarmac and several others are down now til next year with most cars buttoned up for the winter.

There's a Scottish Corvette group on Fb.. Don't know if Robert's on that, but if not, its the only way to connect with other owners to try and sell CCCUK to them..

Back on topic, I really like the shape of the C2, but this is the nearest I'll get to owning my own! Very Happy

Interesting read

There was nothing sinister about my question (as some people might think) but I'm on lots or forums from lots of marques and for a car that is highly prized I simply thought it would be busier.

Maybe it's the FB group that has taken over, It does seem an easy system to use and with instant results.

I'm sure in the days when I had my last C2 it was busier her
