Was this a thing??

Just seen this on Instagram

Was this actually made, or has it just been customised?

I like the back...

Concept car that actually spawned a kit of panels to replicate back in in day - may even still be available called Mako (or was it Maco?) We have a member in Scotland with one of these.

Absolutely a "thing" Richard! It's the concept car that spawned the 68 Corvette, now unfortunately known as the C3. Designed by one of the Corvette legends, Larry Shinoda, it debuted in 65 or 66 I think. A follow on from the Mako Shark 1, which had the styling that became the Sting Ray, (now known as the C2).

Re: Was this a thing??

Was it not the Mako Shark concept for the C2 and Manta Ray concept for the C3 ?, but I have not seen the back window treatment before as in the image, there are obviously a few variants around possibly custom jobs.

Many years ago I remember seeing the C3 version at Corvette Kingdom which I assumed was an Ekler's creation.
