Sunday Scramble - Bicester Heritage Centre

Calendar Event: 22 Apr

Bicester Heritage Centre is located at an old RAF base, where some of the buildings have been utilised to become workshops for various independent businesses specialising in the restoration of classic cars.

The term "Sunday Scramble" is somewhat misleading - it's actually a gathering of classic and vintage cars between 9 am and 4 pm, and appears to be gaining in momentum with each event.

Started about three years ago I'm told it's a really interesting place to visit.

I've listed this under "Non- CCCUK Events, but if there is a regional rep. who wants to organise a day out for the Club we can request a dedicated area - and as a bonus get half price admission

Sunday 22nd April 2018 for your diary

It is from here that the RAF scrambled their Wings to protect dear old Blighty

A good event, lots of interesting and nostalgic Classics and Racers

The old Buildings now housing various outfits involved in Resto works and Race Prep of the Old Racers etc

Take some warm clothing - Airfields are devoid of Wind Breaks.

Bowler may probably be organising a gaggle of Vettes and VetteHeads if the interest is shown by the Members.

This is now a Corvette Club Event

Guy (South Central Rep.) will be applying to the organisers for an area for us to park, and of course as a result discounted tickets will be available

I've asked the organisers for a dedicated space for the Classic Corvette Club UK

As and when this is firmed up, Club Members will be entitled to benefit from advance discounted online tickets and the option to park in a dedicated club display parking area.

Club Members booking in advance will also be entitled to 50% off the gate price which is £8 per person, making a Club Member ticket £4 per person (plus a booking fee). Under 16s are free of charge (accompanied by an adult ticket holder). Standard advance online adult ticket is £6 (plus the fee)

CCCUK Members who are interested in attending this event should post here or otherwise contact me by any method (my contact details are on the inside back cover of Vette News). When it has been set-up, I will then provide the booking code by e-mail, or over the phone

Any update on this one Guy?

I was looking at this recently and may go along, been recommended by a few people. If we have a club code that will save the price of a 'Burger' on the day Very Happy

Thanks.

Re: Sunday Scramble - Bicester Heritage Centre

The organisers of the scramble have been in touch with me to let me know that only 3 people have registered for the event, using the dedicated CCCUK booking code

I recognise that with the weather being so poor just lately, there's a reluctance to commit until it warms up, but the the forecast for the next week or so looks a lot better, so it's time to think about this again.

The code expires at midnight tonight (Sunday 15th) so if you're interested in the event ,you need to get your act together

I've had this message from the Scramble organisers today

Iam sorry to inform you that on this occasion we have been unable to allocate a club parking display area for the Classic Corvette Club, as there are only three bookings against your club registration. I hope that your members who are attending have a lovely day out and we will see your club here again in the future.

I really do not see the issue for them, if we are displaying a Marque that is what we are displaying, and if there is only 3 just allocate a smaller area, rather than "You don't qualify"
