MT's... Yes

I'd love to have a set of these on the back.. Probably lethal in our climate, but what the hell, they look great. And they do them in my size!

Yes. And sometimes the guys remove the front anti roll bar and fit springs from a lighter engined car.

Normally weight at the wheels is used when adjusting suspension rates at each corner. Adjustable coil overs, spring/traction bar preload and shocks etc. I can't see how adjusting caster, camber, and toe could be effected by wheel weight. I must not know as much about it as I thought? Confused

Apparently these newer Mk2 versions of the tyre are "better" in the wet than the completely lethal previous version. Laughing

I wish..

The 84-89 C4 has a unique wheel with a 34-38mm backspace depending on the width (8.5 or 9.5 depending upon what Bubba and Dan had available on the line) so later C4's and C5's won't fit as I think they have a 56mm backspace. The only later GM wheel that will fit an early C4 oddly enough is a ZR1 wheel (11x17) as it has the same 38mm backspace. I could fit C5 wheels, but I'd need spacers and that would push the wheel out of the wheelarch.

My BBS's are in fact off a BMW and 10x16 and 295/50R16 is a perfect size for me.

The biggest issues seem to occur with the '84-'87 models. According to Mike Sweeney of Corvette Wheel Specialist, these wheels were special, with a 36-38mm offset, different from the more common 56mm offset found on '88 through '96 Corvette wheels. "Offset" is the distance between the front of the wheel and where the wheel mounts to the disc-brake rotor; backspacing is measured from this point to the back of the wheel.

To be honest, I doubt if traction would be an issue with my car as Santa Pod's surface, and the traction compound they spray on it seems to bog down a lot of the lesser powered cars especially if they are burning out too. I would guess that my best shot would be to not burn out and let the tyres spin a tad to keep it all going..

That may change with the new 'concrete' surface being laid for the 2018 season

Had it's MOT yesterday passed with no Advisories...

I asked them to check, for anything worn, wobbly or look out for dodgy shocks etc. he said didn't find anything and all was well. He drives a Skyline and said he's does it as well, any car with this sort of set up and fat tyres is always going to follow ruts in the road, so maybe it's just me...

Also has new tyers all round now, so I'll see how that goes
