Faulty time clock


Hi all
Have just removed my non working time clock and I was wondering if any body out there has stripped and repaired one,as a replacement clock is quite pricey

It's nice to have a working clock, but when not in use I switch the battery off - so the time is nearly always completely wrong Doh

You should consider this point perhaps before shelling out bundles of cash Scratchchin

I think I may have fixed the clock (yet to fit it back in to car)used a bench test to see if it worked after a points and gear wheel clean
But I have another question! How does the defogger work!! The little green light doesnít come on so I guess itís not working .Has any one out there had any experience trying to fix it assuming the rear window grid is ok

I believe that Edd China did a detailed fix of a Corvette clock on the C2 they sold on WD.

Don't know if this is relevant, but watch it from 28.20 as Edd fixes the clock.

Hi
I had my 1980 clock out last week, because it was non working.
All I did was spray the whole lot with WD 40, and then dried it with lp air.
The contacts on the spring rewind solenoid needed cleaning with very fine abrasive paper, and that was it, off it went and is still going.
It does take a bit of adjustment though.
The drivers manual describes it well.
