Re: What did you do with your Vette today?

Well done you.. Thumbs up

I know how that feels, as practically everything I do to my own Corvette attracts negative and ill informed comments, but I'm very pleased with the results I've achieved over the years as it runs much smoother, cooler and starts with little more than a hard stare, like instantly without cranking, and it sounds great and feels better all round. I can't remember the last time I saw an SES on the screen, despite removing such a lot of engine management items and random tinkering to follow the many simple enhancement tips you can do to an L98.

No idea what the emissions are as the mot guy just says they are always well below what he would have imagined even with no cats, so I must be doing something right.

Summer's fine, ..but right now I'd like some decent rain to wash the slime and shyte off the country roads so I can drive in a straight line once again and not drift so much! Surprised

I'm with you on that Thumbs up

Besides a good looking car still looks good even when a bit dirty - and yours looks pretty darn good. I bet those wheels are a bugger to get properly clean though.

(..no pedal, rope steering, and just an on and off switch and no brakes).

Now do you see why you worry me with that C4 !

Cheers Allen. Thumbs up

The wheels aren't too difficult to clean. I have a longish wheel brush that I push through the holes after a spray of Wonder Wheels and a thick paint brush does the rest. Going to give this stuff a try as ive seen the results and am quite impressed. 10% hydrochloric acid though, ..fine for eating brake dust but not to be left on too long..

The polished alloy rims take a bit of work though as I wet and dry it once a year , then give then a rub with Brasso wadding, then I use a buffer on my power drill coated in white jewellers rouge a couple of times a year.

I don't attend shows anymore, so its just the basics these days for the whole car.

Just a flying visit to check up on the C3, the offside rear loses pressure due to corrosion on the 40 year old chromed steel rims.Sealing compound has worked for the other 3 rims but not this one......

Can't wait for better weather as the right foot is getting itchy..😉

Looks like a great time!!

Took our C3 out for a little drive and filled up her up. Always nice to get the thumbs-up when cruising.

As it was dry for a change, I jet washed all three cars.

Bitterly cold though, so after that it was just sitting around the log burner all weekend, eating junk and watching rubbish.. Smile
