Re: Trip through UK

I'm with Steven on this - Tom Moss had his '62 C1 stolen from a locked garage last year - OK so he got it back after a couple of weeks - but this was only because of a concerted on-line social media campaign to find it. The local Romord police didn't find it (didn't actually do too much about it TBH) - oddly it WAS an individual policeman in Basildon who circulated the information on social media local to him after someone spotted it locally that lead to it being 'dumped' in the street and Tom getting back.
With increasing numbers of 'ordinary' classic UK Fords and other vehicles being stolen it makes sense to be careful. Yes, some of these might have ended-up on the Banger racing circuit - but now it is so easy to containerise a vehicle and ship from a regional port out of the country to a country that doesn't have the same ethics regarding a vehicles provenance.................

To help with the "peace of mind" - Wheel Clamp (not the steering Wheel) but one that also covers the Knock on centres.

If you are around Warwickshire, our regional area meets are first Sunday of the month for breakfast and second Thursday of the month for a drink, chat and food if desired.

Lovely Vette nice mods enjoy your trip.

Re: Trip through UK

I wasn't actually thinking of theft necessarily, but as Ross says, theft of classic cars is definitely increasing. And, knowledge of the value of Corvette, though less than many classics, is also increasing, so they become more vulnerable.

But, I was thinking as much about wanton vandalism as anything, or even someone just banging into it by mistake!

Fran, I don't "do" red wine I'm afraid, but yes, it's all cheap! Laughing Laughing
