c5 alarm fob

while I'm posting and its on my mind - I'm after a euro / jap spec 99 alarm fob if anyone knows where I may be able to find one.
alternatively am I going to be better off changing it and the tpms for the newer system ?
any help / input appreciated.
thanks

If all you want are parts, then talk to Keith at Eurovettes

You can't get the Euro key fob any more. If anyone ever finds one let me know.

Re: c5 alarm fob

This is probably of no help at all but my newly acquired C5 only came with one key fob so I ordered one from Corvette Central, followed the instructions for self programming and it works just fine. My car was first registered from new in the UK so doesnít that make it a Euro car ? Sorry if Iím way off base here

Re: c5 alarm fob

I have photos of the different fobs somewhere with the frequencies printed on.

In the USA they use different radio frequencies to Europe/UK.

So, although you can still get replacements for US spec cars that have been imported or sold here no problem, the Euro/UK Export ones were only made in a small batch and there are non left that I can find. And I have tried hard.

I seem to remember there is also a difference between US 97-00 and 01-04 models? Not sure on that point though.

I have a couple of fobs somewhere, I'm in the middle of a house move so can't put my hands straight on them.
I got them for my 2003 Z06, but didn't work for some reason.
I think Allen got one for his C5, will hunt them out and you can see if they are any use.

Can't see any C5 "Schlussels" on ebay.de at the mo:

https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1...

Authorised Vette dealers in Germany like Geiger in Munich, Autohaus Kramm in Berlin, AutoSteppe in Horgau might have one, if Black Zeds don't work out?

Some UK cars had a TOAD system fitted which replaced the Chevy system. Just to confuse things more. Smile

Found my photos.

The US/Canada spec one is on the left. Euro spec one on the right. 433.920 MHz and a CE mark.
