https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-powers-to-kick-start-...

We all really need to read this and its implications for the future of motoring as we know it. Seems that HMG have taken it unto themselves to promote the UK as being the forerunners in electric vehicle usage and a comprehensive national electric vehicle charging structure. Something missing? - like where is all the additional power going to come from? - and where the plans and approvals for all the new power stations or alternative forms of power harvesting or generation? the usual lack of 'joined-up' thinking from HMG once more ? Yes Scratchchin

It's not going to work with the present technology and facilities. As Bob Lutz said, if everyone plugs in his vehicle in at night, we have massive black-outs all over the planet Very Happy

Bang on it does not make sense, rather like use diesel not petrol (Co2 scam)

Then HMG levy the Taxes on Petrol, but now; "hang on a moment Diesel is far more harmful to human beings than Petrol, but of course this is all new data for us politicians, so we will need another alternative, launch it quick, because that is when we can start to levy further taxes on Diesel users, Diesel is nasty"

"We will need to spin the electric thingy to Joe public to set the path for some more revenue"

It is a shame we can't plug some of the Politicians in, that would teach them not to mess with that, of which they have no clue.

May be there is another part to this move to electric power - it may be two phase!
