Re: I'm back! Just bought a C3 (again)

Hi Jack, for a 79 the standard tyres on the 15" wheels are 225-70-15 or the optional 255-60-15 on the same wheel - the 255 size I believe had the front wheel arches fettled a tad on the inner rim when factory fitted.

The rear can be lowered by using longer spring bolts - keep your distance when adjusting the nuts on the end of the spring bolts - My friend had the nut spin off with the spring end lashing down just missing him.

Interesting, I'd assumed based on random googling that rears were 8" wide and front 7", so what width should a 1979 rim be? Assume from above that all wheels and tyres should be same size? Not trying to fit anything bigger/wider than original, corvette wheels plenty big enough for road driving.

We have a couple of sets of wheels in stock which may be of interest. I have a very good set of used factory aluminium wheels with excellent tyres:

or I have a set of refurbished factory aluminium wheels that have been diamond cut and are lovely:

https://www.corvettekingdom.co.uk/part/76-82-aluminium-wheel...

I can supply new aluminium or steel wheels, along with tyres, and trims:

You can order online at www.corvettkingdom.co.uk or call Chris on 01263 739944
