Great article Tim , thanks for posting , alas i don't think it would fit on my big block with hooker headers , so i'll have to keep saving up my pocket money, untill i can afford a Steeroids kit . Toetap

Really interesting article..thanks for posting!

I fitted a Borgeson steering box on my '79 a couple of years ago, and am also really pleased with the results. It's a very neat installation, and was a marked improvement over my original steering set-up.

One issue I did find was that because the steering box is very close to my exhaust manifold (I have the stock rams horn) I think this was over-heating the steering fluid as it passed through the box... as after a long run the steering would be a little stiffer at low revs/parking speeds as if the assistance was reduced.
However, I fitted a heat shield and this seemed to help. I also fitted an oil cooler for the steering fluid... thought this may have been overkill Smile
