C5 Headlamp Adjusters "Golden Rods"


A few years back I had big trouble adjusting the headlamp aim on my C5. The main problem being that the adjustment screws are relatively long and made of plastic (so called 'golden rods'). These were not available to buy from anywhere back then and if you broke a seized one (very likely!) you were facing MOT failure as a result of not being able to adjust your headlamp aim. The net result being potentially the need to replace the whole headlmap unit. .

Anyway, I've just heard that these 'golden rod' adjusters are now available to buy from the US; two different types:-

Good news, I guess other suppliers may now start stocking them too. I'm aware that there are multiple types of C5 headlamp unit, so obviously you'll need to check carefully for compatibility.

Anyway, I thought it was worth posting here for the record. Thumbs up

Nice one! Yes mine seized , which is very common and managed to sort but your right they might as well have been made of solid gold!

Mine were metal but it was the worm gear that corroded up. Bit of a tricky job to dissemble and repair. But I managed despite everyone on the US site telling me it wasn't possible.
