See saw. Even the new cars need TLC.

Re: C2 fibreglassing and stuff

I always wondered if one of these 12v electrics pallet lifts would be capable of lifting a chassis or even a car so I took the plunge and bought a used one. Hooked up the trailer and headed off up the A1. The owner of a small engineering company hadn't used it in a while and needed the space. Not much to it really, three buttons, up, down and a twist button that can rotate the angle of the forks. Pull handle and brake. It's powered by a car battery.

Back home at 10.30 and wheeled it into the garage under the back of a car. I couldn't resist, the forks surprisingly were long enough to reach the rear leaf spring. Green button. 3 seconds later and the rear of the car was raised about two feet. Red down button and the suspension was put to the test with a bounce. Great pics of kit if a little smelly from milky swarf, so a 20 minute degrease, satin black and Chevy engine orange and all was well.

Slotted under the car it only sticks out 10 inches so doesn't take up much more room than my high lift trolley jack and cost a bit less. Once the garage has been tidied up I'll place the forks under a rear wheel and see how it performs with a direct lift and maybe take the time to chock a front wheel just in case.

Pics below.

Tony you can’t beat my old favourite the Block and Tackle.

If I did she would have a retort. I started saying about how useful the block and tackle is and she replied with mass, rotational force, effort, transfer etc. “Err yes that’s right”?!!!

A few more hours of scraping and there's no going back now. In this pic the sharp eyed amongst you can see the holes on the deck lid where the roll bar came through.
I'm still getting to grips with this new image hosting site, from what I can see the pics are coming out massive and text small?

The doors will have to go to the blasters who did my frame, I'll lose the will to live if I have to do those and they will do a far better job than I ever could.

What I did Frank was leave a few scrapers dotted around the car and whenever people came around they couldn’t resist having a scrap and when they started......
Not sure I would have a glass car blasted, what media they using?
