Hi Dave

yeh no worries... can always meet you half way somewhere.....

She booked in at the mom for an MOT so I can get her reg in the UK... (Cars in southern Ireland that are over 30 yrs dont need MOT's) So need to modify the indicators and put a rear/fog beam on the back... So should be done next week..

Just give us a shout on here.... Cheers Dave, hope to see ya soon

Perhaps I've misunderstood - sorry if so - but a '73 doesn't need a fog light to pass an MOT in the UK. (Maybe it needs one for Eire Confused )

Morning Ben....

MMM really!! having spoke to the MOT centre, they said it would!!! Said the rear indicators would need changing, so using the reversing lights as the new indicators and putting a new reversing lamp on plus a new rear beam!

So whats the reasoning on not having a rear beam?

http://www.ukmot.com/1-1.asp
Section 6, at the bottom.
Quote:The inspection of rear fog lamps is confined to the one rear fog lamp which is required to be fitted to the centre or offside of vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1980.
As I said before though, this is for UK MOTs. If you're in Ireland then the regs might be different. Thumbs up

From Dougalvette's profile, it shows he is in Macclesfield...last time I looked that was still in the UK ben....lol

Ben is correct, no need for rear foglamp or reverse lights if you dont want them.

Couple of new headlights, front white side lights, rear amber indicators...all easy stuff especially with the tech article on this site.
Here is the link to it...

http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/files/downloads/C3_rear_light...

Total cost of modifying the lights from US to UK spec is about £35 and a few hours work if you do it yourself using readily available parts, more if you ask a garge to do it.
