Spent a couple of hours cleaning up the white lettering on the tyres of my C3.Brillo pad, 200 grit paper and lots of elbow grease worked a treat☺

It always makes a nice difference to get the letters white again. I use White Spirit, some on a cloth, one finger and wipe over one letter, change the position of the cloth so you don't drag the dirt from the previous letter on to the next. I find if I do it perhaps a few times each year they stay pretty good.

My Cadillac has white-wall tyres, not full width, just a one inch band. I used to buy the cleaner for it which was quite expensive, about 15 quid for half a litre. I discovered that pressure washer soap used neat on a cheapo foam scouring pad works much better.

Thinners on a clean cloth for white letters.

weslp00 wrote (View Post):ooh and by the way didn't you fancy them fitting your new clutch ? We could get them both done together .. Yes

no problem , happy to help.. seriously look them up anyway mate.. great guys and rare to have guys skilled and up to speed on our cars so close by.. even if you drop by for a chat look round.. there are 67 Eleanor Mustang build, big 4 digit horse power classic Camaro started and an amazing show winning standard C3 to name a couple! .. they have contacts for parts and local people for doing things if needed..

I'm committed for my clutch to my local guys as they have ordered the Clutch for me through summit as they have an account with them... but sure your aware being a mechanic , but clutch in our cars isn't a small job! I'm also planning 'while its apart' to do anything else at the same time, seems daft not too with the labour of whats in store..

Thanks Dave... Looks like there maybe a "clutch kit/slave/ easi bleed/release and pilot bearing on the Christmas list. Maybe couplers and torque tube bearings..Jeez the list goes on. May as well do it whilst its all on the floor!
Only thing is I will end up paying for it !! lol
Also a little trip up to Harlow Clap Laughing

No problems.
I have a Stage 2 Monster clutch, flywheel, new slave and new Tick master cylinder
at home waiting to go in when I feel it needs it.
Also has a remote bleeder so it makes it easy to change the fluid.
I will get a billet bearing support before it goes in as well.
Cylinder heads first though Wink

Spent a few happy hours driving the C3 to Colchester to an exhibition, followed by coffee and eats at the Bungalow Diner Marks Tey ☺
