Not long back from the north coast of Scotland. 6th time now, maybe 4th in the corvette. Performed faultlessly as always and just ticked over 60,000 miles. About time she got some sort of birthday present... any suggestions...?

Went to a car show the other weekend, there was a C4 cabrio there too.

Drove to work for my 6-2 shift just after the solstice

Haven't really done much to the car this year, which is nice!

Re: What did you do with your Vette today?

On Tuesday night I cut the lawns, put the bins out, cooked an early dinner for my wife going out early, emptied the dishwasher and washed all the rest of the dishes, and decided because I'd been such a good boy I deserved a treat.

So I jumped in my C5 and hooned around Newcastle like a bloody hooligan for a half hour. Then had a bottle of bud and put my feet up for what was left of the evening.

That half hour drive made the whole night for me. Yes

Re: What did you do with your Vette today?

In the "olden days", when I was in my early 20s, and the pubs shut by 11 the clubs by 2am, I used to go out driving around town. There was no traffic. No taxis. No police. Not even many rats about in those days. The town used to be completely empty.

I could roar my 5.2 Charger around the city streets completely at will until the sun came up.

There were no pedestrianized roads. No stupid one-way systems.

Only time I passed a Police car was once while shooting up Bath Lane. I backed off and the copper tried to spin his car around, messed it up, and stalled against the curb. So I just floored it and lost him. Very Happy

These days if I am not in bed by 11 o'clock I can't function the next day. LOL

Re: What did you do with your Vette today?

Many, many years ago, when I worked shifts, I used to stay on "night shift" on the days off. For something to do I used to go driving in my Austin Cooper for much of the night. Loved it! In fact I loved night driving in general. Now, out here, we are not so keen... way too much wildlife around that I don't want to hit, for its sake and, ours - a boar can do some serious damage!

In the meantime, I had a fun day and a half removing the starter, cleaning out the solenoid and re-fitting. Would have been a lot quicker but for an extremely problematic tiny nut on the S terminal! Hopefully, all good now.

Picked my Z06 up after having new Aldan Coilovers fitted ... My old LG ones snapped... Funny LGs are raved about in forums and ones I had were nearly $3k when new , but design is crap , adjuster bolt has a hole in it, so very weak..

Think my car was fully set up as a track only car when in US , but never was used as one.. The Spring rating on my new ones are 650.... The race car at AAS who did the work has ones rated at 900 , ones that came off my car where 1200! Which is why my fillings in my mouth are loose..

Still getting used to them, but massive difference in ride quality , but still handles great.. May lower it a little bit more, but loving it for now... The AAS guys service surpassed itself once again, also took my body mounts apart and regreased/ refurbed as constant squeaking in the car... You can now hear a pin drop inside the car... At least once the blood clears from your ears due to sound if the exhaust!!

The squeaking of those polly bushes was very annoying! LOL It would have driven me mad. Or madder I should say. Laughing
