Nice one.

Now just remember to wipe them down after every run out in the car - that'll get the brake dust off and help keep them looking great without the need to re-polish every couple of weeks! Very Happy

Re: New uk owner

Thought id fix a bracket on the exhaust this afternoon,On the offside manifold where A.I.R pipe attaches that goes down to the cat...So the bonnet was up and I had to jack the car up to retrieve a jubilee clip that had slid down the pipe out of reach...As I jacked it up the bonnet which has no prop slammed shut...No big deal I thought...Re-opened the bonnet ok but shortly afterwards noticed a wet patch at the end of the nearside fuel rail....Hmmm yes it was fuel... the union on the cold start injector was leaking..Dont know if it had been leaking previously, had never noticed it before so I'm thinking the shock of the bonnet slamming had disturbed it...So my job now was to take the union apart to check the pipe n seals...Everything looked ok so re-assembled and tested...All ok, no leaks...So now that's sorted I can go back to finish my bracket tomorrow...

Please be careful.. Surprised

That bonnet weighs 120lbs and could kill or seriously disable you if it fell on you. As you could be leaning over the motor when it drops, your spine is a perfect target.

Re: New uk owner

ive given in to the man...so ive changed my all red lights at the rear to euro style lights with orange indicators. I was going to go with L.E.D units but decided against it for two reasons. 1st if an LED section fails then i would need to replace the whole unit and 2nd id have to change the flasher relay and combining bulbs on the front and LED's on the rear could be a nightmare. Now i don't have to worry about being pulled by the men in blue or talking sweetly to the MOT man
this is the car as it was....

Good work there.. Thumbs up

My '87 has a red and orange lamp on each side. I think it was done at Bauer in Leicester when the car was imported. Four red lights would have looked cool at night and I would have just added a couple of indicator lamps somewhere on the rear panel if I had to do that conversion myself.

This place is a useful source of parts in the UK..

Re: New uk owner

Hi. Yes i had several lighting options in mind.
Initialy i was only going to change the outer lights. I brought a pair of L.E.D hamburger lights but my concern was getting the flash rate correct because i was mixing them with bulb indicators on the front.. My next concern was if a section of led's pack up as they often do then the whole unit would need replacing.
So i decided on these bulb hamburger lights. They take the same 21w bulbs so the flash rate didnt change and the front covers are just secured with two screws so its easy to change the bulbs
