No hot air and engine going into limp mode

Hi. I’m a new member. Bought an immaculate C5 in summer . Air con fine but come the winter no hot air! Then dash would tell me “service traction control” & go into lump
mode. I could switch off , leave for ten seconds and all was well but not good. I had an American car man look but no joy. In our mag Topcat Racing advertise so I went there. Problems cured, fab service, impressive facility real enthusiasts and able to find and repYnot just replace. No connection obviously just a very happy customer. Tom

It's great that you got good service from one of the club advertisers and thanks for sharing.

If you get problems with your C5 you'll find that the first source of good information is the driver information console (dic) and the obd2 codes that are displayed there by the car. However, often those codes are a little ambiguous, so you then need to do some internet searching for the likely cause of the code(s). The codes are suffixed with an H (history) or C (current). There are many good references online to how OBD2 works and the process for displaying the codes, so get googling!

Good luck and enjoy yor C5. Thumbs up

It gets even better than that. If you can afford the, nastily expensive, correct scanner then along with the FSM documented diagnostic processes you can read data and send data to the affected system to identify the specific faulty component.
