Most expensive petrol

One thing I forgot to mention on my recent post re a trip back from Sheffield was that I thought I'd add some fuel, just in case. The trip indicated that I had enough but not wanting to risk getting caught out I decided to get some even though I knew it'd be more expensive at a motorway filling station. What I didn't expect was how much more expensive it would be -
£1.35 a litre
Surely this has to be the most expensive petrol in the country.
Probably not allowed to name the services but it was Esso petrol, in the North, and on a Corner Scratchchin
I didn't buy very much!

How about this for the cheapest - Isle of Wight last week. Paid £1.08 for regular unleaded at an Asda.

Couldn't believe it so I queried it with the cashier. Apparently, as they were a new store they were trying to attract business. Great strategy for the consumer whilst it lasts.

£1.349 for BP Ultimate at my local in London... stings a bit, but the bike tank is tiny so itís fine really.

The Esso at £1.35 was the regular stuff.

being a frequent motorway traveller its normal price Graeme for Motorway service stations.. they charge a big premium.. try and find a Costco if you can.. cheapest by 5p litre generally as its company policy. also they use a higher grade fuel I believe... one in Gateshead

Go to Sloane Avenue, it's over £1.85 a litre, so expensive they don't even advertise it, I suppose the way they see it if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

At the other end of the scale, a 'Jet' station has just opened near me in Hartley Wintney, and their unleaded price is the same as the supermarkets (£115.9p/ltr.).
Didn't realise Jet still existed - they used to be ubiquitous 30 years ago, but seem to have disappeared until now......maybe it's different in other parts of the UK?

109.9 a litre here, down in deepest darkest Cornwall,
at Morrisons. Mind you, your car WILL get wet, just going there....
(and a free pasty with every tankful Laughing )
