London Classic Car Show Excel

Hi guys n gals, just noticed we're not on the list of car clubs attending next year ? Just wondered if this was correct for 2018 ? Or if I have missed a thread on the topic ?apologies if that's the case just curious as it was fun to be apart of the first year 😊

Ah I see that's not ideal to say the least, lovely show to be apart of but with only 3 slots that kinda makes it difficult, good luck with sorting it out

We were one the very few car clubs who exhibited at the London show in its first year and arguably helped launch the show. This is how they repay us. Bit of a shame, really.

The NEC have done the same by gradually reducing our stand size and, more latterly, squeezing us up against a wall. What have they offered this year?

I'm not suggesting that we shouldn't be at these shows - we should be in order to promote the club, but the organisers really should be more sympathetic.

Bill thankfully has being doing an excellent job of logistics at the NEC (thanks Bill!) and, yes we will have a good display there - LCC, as you say Rich they were originally struggling for car club exhibitors (alongside the megabuck classic car trade stands) - seemingly they are now looking to squeeze more car club in to the show. Net result is that we get three car spaces...................

I think they are focused on quality not quantity, the best cars in the club get the prestige of displaying.

That's not necessarily true. We aim to have between 5 and 7 cars on all our stands at the large shows.

I constantly ask all Club Members to get involved and display their 'Vettes - they don't have to be perfect, but obviously visitors expect the cars they come to see to be decent examples.

I would ask everyone to be patient regarding the London show. This year arrangements are very late but I want to assure everyone that we are very much in the frame and all things being equal we should be there come February.

As soon as we have confirmation you will be the first to know

I can now confirm that we will be at the show in February

The show organisers have left everything late this year, but we will be there with a stand of five cars.

Details will be posted on the event calendar shortly - so panic over Vaughan Cloud9
