All home safe and sound, sat in loads of traffic on the M25 (about2 hours worth) and she didnt miss a beat, the only issue I can see is a bit of tyre balancing (the yanks did not do properly when tyres were fitted) and a set of shocks, apart from that she a goodie!

All vital reading are good!

Steady cruise home, even the cruise control works, amazing!

Thanks Jeff for editing your comments on Tuesday 22nd at 10:02 - (and very strangely to 'hahaha' ?)
Suggesting that I would even consider collecting and driving the Vette illegally I consider insulting and inflammatory. I politely request that you do not respond or make comments on any posts or threads that I am involved with as I feel you are trying to discredit me on a public forum.

Tony

It was actually a poor attempt at humor to try to lighten the situation between us .....

Never meant anything malicious just thought It would appeal to your kind of tongue in cheek humor ....

but without appearing childish you actually did start the defamatory remarks about me as a dealer...and not to buy from dealers generally...

so lets consider this matter closed.

apologies If i did offend you but I thought you had thicker skin.

take care and I will shake your hand down the Red Lion.

Jeff

Re: 1981 corvette Here! Jobs list has started.

So today was quite productive, fuel gauge was stuck on full so changed the sender unit, quite easy, done it all through the fuel flap hole.
It came with new rubber gasket and new bolts from Corvette Central.

Think I liked it more when it was broken at least I thought I had a full tank!

After that I jacked the front up and removed the power steering control valve and steering damper to do the somewhat excessive oil leak.

I was gonna do a full write up on this job but to be honest I always do it the method in this YouTube video by Willcox Corvette, follow this and you won’t have a problem!

Would have been nice to know if the tank sticker was still in place ( if they still had them in the 80's )
