Corvette C6 oil filter and correct Oil / Owners manual

Hi Guys just returned to Corvette ownership since owning a C5 some years ago !! can anyone recommend an oil filter and oil for a 2005, C6, LS2 engine seen loads on the internet but thought I would ask the forum on there advice on oil filters and oil makes and viscosity etc . Think it supposed to have Mobil 1, 5w 30w or is that for the USA ? I also need a C6 corvette owners hand book if anyone knows where I can get one ?
as mine was stolen in transit !! your help is much appreciated thanks Davee

The GM recommended items are:

AC Delco Oil Filter PF46

Dexos 2 oil. 5w 30. Available from Vauxhall dealers.

Mobil 1 was recommended but that changed to Dexos 2.

I have a pdf of a 2008 Owners Manual which I can email to you, no problem, but you may be able to find one online for your year.

You Might find the PF46 is better for 2005/2006 C6. Thumbs up

You are quite right - it is a PF46 for a 2005.

I had PF48 in my mind as my C6s had LS3 engines and PF48 is the filter for the LS3 engine. I've amended my original post to avoid any confusion.

Eurovettes on here can supply the AC Delco filter and also the US spec Mobil 1 (if that is your preference) in the correct amount for you. The spec of the UK Mobil 1 is marginally different to the US spec.

Rockauto AC-Delco PF46E, just bought 4 for $3 a piece, and that was without the 10% forum discount code

Re: Corvette C6 oil filter and correct Oil / Owners manual

Help wanted:I have a C6 four speed auto now with 80k miles from new.Unfortunately the car has started to judder and jolt when moving off in first gear and then from first to second, this resulted in the engine block light coming on.Initially, this fault code was shown to be a problem with the torque converter and a small amount of fluid, less than 100ml,appeared to solve the problem.Sadly the fault returned and I took the car to an auto specialist and sods law after half-hour test drive nothing untoward happened, but he did suggest that there was a slight misfire.I have had a complete major service done which included new plugs, leads, coils for each plug and all filters replaced.Took the car for a drive and it ran sweetly until I had some traffic and the jolting into gear returned and the fault light came on,any ideas would be most welcome.Regards Dieter

Perhaps a better plan would be to start your own topic, your question has nothing to do with the OP question
