15x8 OEM Rally wheels

Long story - but has anyone got a spare pair of early C3 15x8 rims that they would be prepared to sell for a reasonable price?

I'm happy to refurb if they're a tad rough and ready, but but not if they are buckled or badly dinged...

thanks for replies

I thought yours was a 68 C3? Didn't they have 15x7 on them as standard?

it is - they do - I'm running a set of wheels off a '69 Smile

all part of the 'long story' - the abbreviated result of which is that due to some idiocy in the states, I had to remove (and sell) a pair of brand new 275/60s that were rubbing in the rear. I put the 255s that were on the front on the back, and got some new (but not matched to the rears - because they're unavailable in the UK market) tyres on the front.

fast forward a year - I came across a pair of the 'right' tyres on my local hot rod facebook forum - they're now sitting in my garage - I'd like to put them on the car so it has the same tyres all round, but can't bring myself to remove a pair of brand new (as in have driven about a mile) tyres to put them on.

hence; my solution is to get hold of another pair of rims for the 'right' tyres - and to mothball, or sell the other pair.

more likely mothball; as I have tyre life fears.... I was getting accidental wheel spin last night accelerating up a slip road from 40mph in 3rd gear!

Gosh, that sounds a bit daft having to remove and sell brand new tyres. Sorry to hear that.

Funnily, within the next year I'm hoping to get some alloys for mine, and my original 1968 15x7s would become available.

And good luck with it all though - saw the pics of your car in another thread and it looks awesome Very Happy

it's getting there... now moved on from a 'stationary project' to a rolling one! Smile

Do let me know when you're changing your wheels.. I might be interested in your existing ones - if not for this car, perhaps for another! (I'm glad my wife doesn't read my posts on here Wink )
