Amazing

The lack of new posts on here is amazing - the holiday season is over - kids back to school etc. The Show season may be coming to an end but there are still Vettes owned by Vette heads.

The lack of contributions against the number of views on most posts is also amazing.

Re: Amazing

There's few active C4 owners here, it's hard to compete against other forums. Same with in person meetups vs other car meets

Actually just back from 3 weeks in Sicily ourselves, so the holiday season is literally just over! Sad Anyone who thinks the UK roads are in a bad way, try Sicily! And the rules of the road are really only guidelines - but amazingly it works when you get into the swing of it! Fabulous place and yes, we did all the Montalbano stuff!

While we were away, we received the report of the professional valuation that is required by the insurance for the agreed valuation - a very nice surprise! Alas, it will push the premium up, but does indicate an increase in values, at least over here! Thumbs up

I agree with the FB comment - absolute travesty. Whilst useful stuff may be posted on FB, it drops off into oblivion shortly thereafter, never to be seen again.

Re: Amazing

Iagree Facebook and Pistonheads has just diluted the amount of members who are willing to post on here. The most enthusiatic threads are the ones that turn into a slanging match normally with the biggest moaner throwing his toys out of the pram and doing the off. Me ? I'm happy to keep posting parts for sale and boring projects threads at least I'm giving some input. Don't be shy, keep posting guys.

I have no time for the "anti-social-network" and have said for a long time that CCCUK, nationally or regionally, should not have a FB page. It is just a conduit for uniformed half truths posted by people too lazy to actually sit and write something sensible! And, given the huge amount of work that Ben put into this site 20 or so years ago, it is something of an insult to his efforts.

I don't look at Pistonheads anymore following an attempt to obtain information on some work I was doing on a friends MGB. The arrogant self-rightous attitude of the replies was unbelievable. It is a great shame that so many Corvette owners turn to that rather than the CCCUK site. Perhaps it is the lack of "rules" that allows rude, unpleasant posts to go unchecked there that appeals....?

Re: Amazing

I use Facebook for the simple reason that it lets me find out quickly and simply what's going on and where, especially things local and maybe not so local to me. No forum can match that.

If you use it sensibly and don't put on personal stuff it's fine and you can block people and ads as you see fit..

Re: Amazing

It's a sign of the times Sad the AACI forum was very, very busy a few years ago with hundreds of posts per week. This month there have been 3 new threads started and two of them have not even had a single reply!
