2009 C6 LS3 wing mirrors

Hopefully have found a C6 and looking at the measurements it will be tight to fit in my garage door. Since I donít have the car yet can someone tell me if the mirrors fold electrically or am I going to have to lower the window and fold them manually....... thanks in advance for any thoughts 👍

Re: 2009 C6 LS3 wing mirrors

Interestingly, a few years ago I read a review of the C6 Grand Sport in a French Auto magazine. Unlike the biased uninformed UK press, the French loved the car (they still do!). But, they had two criticisms - one, that the mirrors did not "dip" when reverse was selected, which they thought on a car with such a wide stance and expensive "corners" would have been very valuable and, two, that the mirrors did not fold automatically. Given the size of parking spaces over here and the width of the C6 GS, they thought it could become a bit of an issue!

So, yes, you'll be leaning out to fold them back Rolling Eyes A small price to pay though I reckon.

Thanks guys for the answers. I thought that would be the case. I think the car with the mirrors "out" will clear the garage door by about 0.5" ......... So, Yes, I will be folding one in Smile

Re: 2009 C6 LS3 wing mirrors

My garage door is 7'00" across the aperture; I have got into the habit of folding the
passenger side mirror while the vehicle is out on the drive, prior to garaging. Then, when driving into the garage, all I have to do is drop the driver's side window and lean out to fold in the mirror on my side. I always leave the driver's side window down while the car is inside: a) it makes egress easier & b) you can reach in to release the hood and the rear hatch if you wish.

Another unrelated tip: if the car is out in the rain, have a towel handy, because when you open the doors or windows, rain runs in off the roof......and there are switches
mounted on the door-pulls.

'part from that, the C6 is a fantastic car!!

Thanks Jack, sounds like good advice...... I also have the rain drop issue with my C4 so I am used to having to mop it up 😀 👍
