2007 C6 ZO6, Manual.

A close friend has inherited a Corvette from her recently deceased partner.
It's a bit too much of a handful for her to keep, so she intends selling it.
Thing is, her partner really went to town on upgrading the car (which he bought new to UK specs).
She's curious to know how to price the car, as one can roughly judge the value of a standard car from other adverts, but this one is a bit special, so may, just may, be worth a bit more!
If I list a few of the mods, maybe someone with some knowledge might make a comment to point her in the right direction. Thanks. Here goes ...

Katech engines street attack vehicle package.
Corsa X pipe with titanium exhaust system.
ARE hand made stage 3 dry sump with external scavenge pump.
Ron Davis custom radiator.
Brembo Gran Turisimo 15" front, 13.6" rear brake system. (just fitted).
Twin disk Mantic 9000 series cerametalix clutch with lightened billet flywheel rated for 1010 lb/ft torque (just fitted).
SKF hubs.
Pfadt competition anti-roll bars.
Katech carbon fibre prop shaft.
CCW magnesium forged wheels (18" front, 19" rear).

These are just a few of the many listed mods, but gives a flavour of the car.
Unfortunately, she hasn't done any pics of the car yet.

She'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks again.
Jack

Good evening Jack - I am going to leave this topic on the forum for a short while - the reality is that a thinly disguised 'selling pitch' for a car from a non member would normally be immediately removed.
CCCUK members can advertise their own personal cars freely on this forum. Traders and non-members pay to advertise. I believe someone may have spoken with me about this particular vehicle a few months ago - it sounds like the same car. Generalising - most of our members - if looking for a limited production car like a Z06 will value low mileage and originality above all else. Heavy modified cars are rarely considered a long term investment and in many cases achieve a poorer return than equivalent stock specification cars. You will already I'm sure know what the value of a stock 11 year old Corvette Z06.

Thanks for your comments. No it's not 'a thinly disguised sales pitch', though I can see it might seem as such. My friend will be advertising the car on the usual sites, such as Autotrader etc., but she doesn't have a clue where to price it.
Another friend of her deceased partner has also been trying to help. It may be him that you've come across previously.
Your comments about maybe making the car more difficult to sell due to over modifying it resonate with me too. I certainly mentioned to my friend that that might well be the case.
However, be assured, my motives for this post were purely as reported. I will not be involved in the sale of the vehicle, but was purely interested in whether, if you spent 10s of thousands of pounds modifying a car which, in my view, didn't need modifying, whether you might get any of that back.
My honest opinion is no!
I do love Corvettes, but my current wheels for the last 9 years is a Jag XK8. Not so exotic, but nice.

Thanks for re-assurance - we'll see what our members think about value. Yes

I would say too many mods lower the value of a car in almost every case.

It helps a lot if the car still looks and drives similar to a bone stock version.

Things that I think will definitely put most buyers off are,

Exhaust too loud.
Custom paint or graphics.
Much more power than stock.
Reduction in MPG.
Removal of any safety features.
Custom interiors including non standard seats and steering wheels.

Re: 2007 C6 ZO6, Manual.

Thanks Roppa.
That was my initial thought also, but my friend was given the misleading impression by someone who should have maybe known better, that all the money that was spent would make it more valuable.
I've advised her not to fit a number of carbon fibre body mods that her partner had bought but never fitted. As you suggest, my thought was that it would diminish the car in the eyes of a Corvette enthusiast. OK for boy racers maybe, but how many of them can afford to buy, or even insure a car like this.
Unfortunately, though the car looks pretty standard visually, I think she's maybe going to have a problem selling & maybe her only option will be an auction.
Thanks again for the advice.

Selling the non-fitted parts separately would probably make more money overall.

I have a business friend who races a Lambo in GT class - if you email me a link to the full spec' I'll pass to him for circulation to some of the people he knows.

Thanks guys.
Roppa, I thought the same thing.
Rosco, that's very good of you. Appreciate it. I don't have an actual 'link', just a list that my friend e mailed me. I'll copy that out & send it to you.
That might be the way to go, as the car looks to be pretty much race tuned, looking at the engine & suspension/brake spec.

Could you tell us what the carbon fibre parts are??
