Sorry but I'm not paying £35 membership so that non-members advertise cars for sale on this forum. We should stick to the rules and not have double standards. If this post upsets, tough!

John.

Former owner of a silver '68 427 split roof coupe 'vette way back in 1975/76 when I was a lot younger. Bought it from Steven Ouvaroff's American Car Centre, Kingston on Thames and sold it to a guy from Bangor, N.Wales.
Now own a silver '07 Z06 bought new from Stratstone Leeds (sadly now gone!)

Can't say I disagree with your comments - I made a decision to leave this post in place for a few days in order to try and help the late owners widow as a kindness to get some feedback as to the vehicles desirability/value - I did have reservations about the motive behind the post - the OP came back with assurances which seemed genuine enough - the way the thread is going seems innocuous enough - could be that we don't just help a widow to decide what to do with her late husbands car - but also help out a CCCUK club member looking for a car or parts Scratchchin

Re: 2007 C6 ZO6, Manual.

I can appreciate the comment about non members who haven't paid the £35 fee being allowed to 'advertise'.

That was not my intention.

Roscobbc, it was kind of you to allow this post to stay for a few days, & it has generated enough opinions to allow me to go back to my friend with an informed opinion on how she should proceed with the sale of the car.

In light of the irritation this post could provoke, it may be best if it is deleted.

One suggestion I will make to the widow, is to maybe become a paid up member of CCCUK & advertise the car on this site when she is ready to sell. That would seem a fair response to the advice that has been generously offered by members.

Thank you again for your help.

Jack - if the lady wishes to join the CCCUK it'll be at a reduced rate until renewals in April. If she isn't in a desperate hurry to sell, yes she could certainly advertise it fully on this forum and in our bi-monthly magazine, Vette News which would reach all 850 plus members in the UK and overseas. The car sounds interesting enough to actually feature in the club magazine in the new year,

You can only delete your own posts - there's a cross in the icons - but you can't delete anyone else's. So leave it as is - and welcome to the Club Thumbs up

Having a lot of bhp is all very well, but on these forums it's torque that counts
