I was informed by a dealer yesterday that my 1999 C5 targa with 120k miles is only worth £10k.
Apparently its not a good time to sell.

Things aren't moving, certainly not at the same prices as they have in the last few years! The C5 has to be the Corvette sweet spot for shear value right now, certainly in the UK. What better sportscar could you get for the same money? Arguably an older Boxster 987 but nowhere near as iconic, compromised and probably much more of a maintenance liability.

Yes, perhaps higher mileage than some would be happy with.......but the car is 25 years old FFS - arguably the engine is nicely run-in now (providing previous maintenance was up to scratch) - presumably the interior and body are good? - was the 'dealer' a Vette dealer? - with perhaps a vested interest in trading the car on? - talk to club member Dave Smitherham with his zillion mile C6.........he actually wanted a high mileage 'well run-in' as a perfect base for track events - some engines seem to get better as they get older.......and the LS series is one of those........
Seem to see plenty of 10 year old cars advertised as low mileage (with way more than your humble 120K)

Agreed Rosco! I've driven high and low mileage C5's. They wear their miles very well indeed if looked after. Even my absolute snotter of a C5 (stolen and recovered, accident damaged) is still a lovely thing to drive and is mechanically very strong.

Was it worth £10k for him to sell or £10k in px, I have to be honest and say £10k isn't an unreasonable PX price considering dealers are advertising them for around that sort of price. Is yours an auto or manual?
