Gotta be worth at the very least £15K/£16K of anyones money.......being a Vert too - possibly a fair bit more - great combination of interior and body colour.

This was a "cheap car" for someone?
Wonder if the owner of that Vette has been giving him/herself a seriously good 'kicking' for not putting a reserve on the car........someone was perhaps very lucky on the day.
Reminds me of a highly modified C4 Callaway Corvette that same-up for sale in a totally inappropriate auction house in Saffron Walden perhaps 8/10 years ago. Not in anyway noted for selling this type of car (presumably it was a probate sale, probably from a local 'estate'. Vehicle was owned by an 80's famous business person/playboy (Charles Burnett) and came with invoices for close to £50K (and that was during the 90's!) - this included at least one shipping over to Callaway (and back) in the 'States for some remedial work and an performance upgrade. Eventually the original owner had someone install race spec' rose jointed suspension all round. The gentleman who bought the car lived in the same town as the auction house and if I recall correctly he was the only person bidding. Believe he secured it for £10K 'ish. He said that with the suspension mods' it was all but impossible to drive on the local roads. There was a feature article on this car in Vette News a few years ago. The 'new' short term owner eventually sold it (for an undisclosed sum) to an overseas, believed European buyer.

Yes maybe (another?) Estate sale? Remember the auction brown 63 Vert Fuellie and 82 Collectors a month or two back that were so cheap?

No I don't remember those? - on the subject of Fuelies - I was at our Essex regional meeting earlier this week and asked if anyone had spoken recently with the late Tom Moss's family (re. his two C1's and spares 'stash') at the recent Mayland car show (on the presumption they may have attended). But no one had heard anything. There has historically been some really 'low ball' offers for these cars and parts.
TBH most people who knew him and family I think are being very respectful re. making contact. It would been good if the CCCUK could have helped here in some respect?

There are three ways to look at a '73 Vette - - its either the very last C3 Corvette to feature a chrome rear bumper........or, its the very first C3 Corvette to have a 'plastic' front bumper. Of course to others it's "neither fish nor fowl" with its unique hybrid of old and new.
So, same rear bumper as '68 to '72 C3 and same front bumper as '74 to '78. Considered collectible by some........

It can be viewed as a “oddball “ but it is a unique one year only corvette. Me, I like it, especially in convertible form.

Even more oddball for 1973

1973 Chevrolet Aerovette

The mid-engine Aerovette began as a concept to showcase GM's newly acquired rotary engine technology.
Bill Mitchell's design team gave the car a bold almond shape, bi-fold gull wing doors and a clear large rear window over the engine compartment to show off the experimental four-rotor engine. It was exhibited as the Four-Rotor Corvette with sterling silver paint and a silver leather interior.

After GM abandoned its rotary engine program, Bill Mitchell gave the car a new life by replacing that engine with a small-block Chevrolet V8 and christening the stunning and dramatic design as the Aerovette.

A NW member has the same Corvette including the colour combo and I can say he would not sell it for £16k! I'd put it and an even £20k or a tad more with the usual caveats of course, rust, birdy etc..

The Color is the only thing that MAY put people off. Green is NOT a popular colour. Me, I like Green especially metallic green.

Green is considered by a number of people as being a 'bad luck' colour for some reason?

Green was more popular on early C3's. The 'Brands Hatch Green' of my '71 'Vert was the second most popular colour that year with only about 250 less sold than the most popular, 'War Bonnet Yellow'. They are actually both slight metallic shades.

Have to say green is not a favourite shade of mine, but when buying the right car over here you don't tend to get a wide choice of colour. Nevertheless I'm constantly being told by members of the public how they love my car, especially the colour.
I'd parked in a local high street to do some shopping today and on my return a guy was waiting to show me a picture on his phone of his mate's '72 T top in 'Mille Miglia Red'. After complimenting me on my car he said he much preferred my Green to his mate's Red. Incidentally in 1972 green was again the second most popular colour; this time 'Elkhart Green' to 'Ontario Orange'.
