I think he said he paid $3600 Rosco and with shipping he reckoned he was into it for about $4k. OK, that's still cheap and sometimes you get lucky on eBay when you pick up a bargain that's not attracting much interest. It's hard to imagine it as a viable restoration project and there didn't seem much that would be worth salvaging as spares. I think that's one buy you write off as a lesson learnt.Certainly bad, very bad, extremely bad in fact. Just goes to show you irrespective of asking price the perils of buying sight unseen...........having said all that he did 'only' pay $2600.........
Ben is no novice, he knows corvettes, I have done buisness with him he knows what's what, he is showing the pitfalls of buying unseen. Which is meant to educate all potential buyers of C3sI think he said he paid $3600 Rosco and with shipping he reckoned he was into it for about $4k. No indeed, they're quite often bent from the car being jacked under there without proper support but rotted out?? The extent of the corrosion throughout the car and the different years of major parts suggests it might have been cobbled together from several different scrappers that had been living outside for many years.Have never ever seen one with a totally rotted-out front suspension crossmember......amazing!
Guess the seller didn't show too many close-up shots showing the disc marks on the 'tonsed-up' body panels? - must have cost a fair amount in 'tonse'?He may know his Vettes but obviously he is not good at buying them. Why then hell would you buy a car unseen. There are so many over there, why i dont know. Still he can fix it.
To me its not the sellers job to give detailed pics. Its for me to get out and look for myself. Thats the trouble with the internet. Its made people daft and lazy. Everybody knows of people selling dodgy rubbish and still put there trust in them. You get ripped off your then your the one to blame end of the day.Guess the seller didn't show too many close-up shots showing the disc marks on the 'tonsed-up' body panels? - must have cost a fair amount in 'tonse'?
I am not even going to bother with that. If folk are still that daft........you cant teach stupid. This screw over has picked up nation wise and reported on several other websites like :
