American Day Brooklands

Anybody planning to go to Brooklands American Day on the 5th September ? looks like they are charging display cars the same amount as general public ?

Not going to Brooklands as a bit of a treck for me . I don`t know about anyone else but i am getting well p**sed off with event organisers charging car owners to show their cars at the same rates as Joe public or even at discounted rates . Even all the small local ones that used to be free are now at it . Without people giving up their time and fuel costs they wouldnat have an event for the public to attend !

Indeed Chuffer, bit like the hospital car parks charging a fortune, dont mind if the money goes back to NHS, or in this case brooklands museum, but probably in the shareholders pockets !

Think you will find that Brooklands is a Charitable Trust or something like that, so the money is not going into the shareholders pockets. Obviously it costs money to maintain and improve the site and the permanent facilities and displays. You are not going to a car show in a farmers field. Many of the prople who work there are unpaid volunteers.

But all the bloody farmers field fraternity are charging show cars now !!!!

@62 C1 Forgot to get a photo of yours but I realised it was RHD. How much time went into converting the interior and mechanics? Did it make a huge difference from being LHD? Thanks.

I reckon I've driven behind that car around Esher/Cobham area. When I mentioned it on here I was led to believe the car's been featured in Classic American. Looked good.
