Battery terminals

[Choosing a name is hard]

Is it possible to change the bolts on the battery terminals where they connect to the battery without replacing the whole cables and why in God’s name did Corvette think it was a great idea to put such small nuts on the end of the bolt that screws into the battery

I did exactly that, and fitted new longer 3/8 course thread bolts.

Keep on mind, those side battery posts are made of lead and can strip if cable bolts are torqued too much over specs
and also cause battery leaking

Watch to assure not cross threading

2. Battery Hold Down Retainer Bolt: 13 lb. ft.
3. Positive Battery Terminal Bolt: 11 lb. ft.
4. Negative Battery Terminal Bolt: 12 lb. ft.
