Nothing apart from the fixed specification. I was sort of hoping they'd at least do a plaque or something, if nothing else was unique, but sadly not.
On the other hand, I'm just happy it arrived, given the long waits for many.

I was wondering if since the 2021 announcement of Launch Edition colour/trim combinations, any "flexibility" had crept in on what you lucky guys could order? Presumably not then? Only option the front lift? All Coupes have "Comp" seats?/All Convertibles GT2 seats?

Not for me... it was pick from the list, add front lift if you want, that was it. When I considered the coupe, I asked if I could add carbon fibre engine appearance package, and was told nothing else could be added. Alternatively, I could wait for a bespoke specced car, which I chose not to do. I personally would have made a few other alterations, but couldn't, and I ended up changing the wheels straight away as they weren't my preferred choice.

Perhaps of interest to future owners, there are a few amusing quirks to me too - for example, the included battery conditioner has a 2-pin plug, and I can't find a way to get temperatures in Celcius and Speed in MPH - it is either US or Metric. Likely an oversight on the part of the engineers, who perhaps didn't have the UK in mind? I also notice we didn't get wireless carplay or android auto, which I would have really liked - it makes the wireless charging pretty useless to me, as I need a cable now away.
As has been stated before, you also can't save locations with the front lift. None of these overly distract from the experience, although I am challenged mentally converting Fahrenheit to Celcius :)

Both my previous C5 and current C7 are the same. Everything is either imperial or metric. You can't have both. So it's always been a thing.

What colour did you go for?
Accelerate Yellow. I think only three of us were brave enough! :)

I saw a black one on Belgium plates on Saturday, looked very nice. First time I've seen one in the flesh.

Re: Car Play / Android Auto - that's a bit rubbish. It's standard on almost every car I get into these days. Even the head unit I put into my Land Rover three years ago has it.

Just to avoid any confusion, we do get carplay and android auto, but I thought it'd be wireless which was rolled out in the US cars, but for some reason we don't get it. If you download 2021 or 2022 C8 manuals from the US, they both mention wireless, but it isn't in our manual and doesn't seem to be available. I would have liked to just put my phone in the wireless charger with no cables, and use these, but not possible.

GM seem only to set up the DIC for either miles and Fahrenheit (USA) or kilometres and Celsius (Canada/ROW). Smaller markets have to take their chances with one of those two. It's a curious thing.

Related to the differences between markets I understand C8 has AFM cylinder deactivation. On UK cars in which "modes" does the deactivation operate?

Nothing new there, the same story if you bought a new C7 from Ian Allan with the optional factory battery conditioner. You spend/spent all that money on a new car and they leave it to you to pop down to the electrical store to buy a two quid 2 to 3 pin (UK) conversion plug.

Being the UK C8s are Z51 I would assume AFM functions the same way as having the mLSD transaxle
and is totally off when in track mode and in other modes when using 4-8 gears would be on under light engine loads.

AFM differs from DOD as LT2 uses 4 different cylinders when it is on, then C7s do.

My car is remembering the location with front lift. When you press the Lift button it should ask if you want to remember the location (use the button on the r/h side of the wheel). I have been back to a couple of locations to check and it has worked fine.

On the 3rd of June I have privately organised a track day at Blyton Park Blyton Park Driving Centre via a professional track day company. There are 24 cars allowed which will be split into four groups of 6 cars on track at one time. I have reserved one group which is 6 slots (5 + mine) just for C8s. The idea with this group is to limit to permissive overtaking, probably in the first session only on one straight. I wanted to create an opportunity for C8s to track their cars with minimal risk and for newbies to track days. Some of the other groups will be more open if you prefer mixing it with other vehicles but I though a safe haven for new Vettes would make a nice group. There will be two instructors there and it will cost about £200 plus £20 per instruction session. Message me if you want to reserve a place.

On UK spec C7s, unlike US spec cars, AFM/engine running on 4 cyinders only occurs in the "ECO" driving mode which the car is in when you start it. In Touring, Sport and Track driving modes the car/engine runs/stays in V8 all of the time. Maybe the same for UK spec C8s?
