A sound that is causing consternation among new Z06s owners, and Chevy says they are now investigating.
The sound that some owners have complained about is described as a ticking noise coming from the upper portion of the engine.
Currently, this issue is related to the sound it makes, as there are no Check Engine Lights or other drivability issues with a Z06 exhibiting the sound.
General Motors has issued a Preliminary Information Bulletin for the condition, and the bulletin says:
“At this time the concern is under engineering investigation, once a repair has been established, this PI (preliminary information) will be updated or changed to a bulletin.”
“No durability issues have been identified with this concern, and the customer can drive the vehicle until a repair is available.”
