Corvette Stingray 1969

Well at long last I managed to secure my lovely 1969 Corvette Stingray. What a car and I can tell you my provider was Gavin Roe of EMC Performance cars who I cannot recommend highly enough. What a pleasure it was to go up and meet him and his wife and view the '69. I have to say I was very impressed with the car which surpassed my expectations having previously seen photos and conversations with Gavin about progress. Anyway about the '69! It's "Cortez silver" with matching interior which looks in my opinion fantastic. It has the 350 cu inch block with automatic gearbox and it's totally standard....the best way for me! I didn't buy this car to show off but it is a real eye turner and my partner loves it. Although she was a bit worried as I haven't driven a LHD for a couple of decades and Gavin asked her if she would be comfortable in the death seat...happy to say she was, more or less! I'll have to get a bit more practise! I've never driven a Stingray before, in fact my last Stingray was a toy car I had when I was a kid only 55 years ago. Finally I've ticked the box!! Having been through the process of looking at C3's and trying to decide whether to import myself, buy from Europe or the UK I'm so happy I got hooked up with Gavin (Via my local Corvette rep Rob Harrison). EMC performance cars deliver exactly what they say and communicate really well. You may have to wait a while but it's definitely worth it. Gavin is an expert on all matters C3 and is a perfectionist when it comes to his work. So a really big thanks to the EMC team and their achievements(y)(y)(y)

Absolutely stunning. I am jealous! ๐Ÿ˜ It's easy to drive and you get the view of the fender curves. Best car ever. Just remember to be careful when changing lanes as no passenger wing mirror. Looks better with only 1 wing mirror though.

Talking about E Types (more in a moment) - it was 'Drive It' day today......our Essex meet and drive-out was understandably cancelled due to to the wet weather today. However later this afternoon (and before this evenings thunderstorm) there was a dry 'window' for a couple of hours and while taking walking the dog.......from a distance I saw a dark green E Type coupe driving away further up the road. A bit later it came back past me and it was probably the only time ever I've seen a manual V12 coupe not exactly being trashed but certainly not driven by a 'pussy' like most you see. Understandably quiet it did sound nice............a few more minutes and I walked past the house it must have been visiting.......and yes, the driver had been 'exercising' it a little - and it was throwing out a bit of heat and the 'clicking' sound of cooling metal as only a large engine car can - accomapanied by a lovely warm oily/petrol smell to it. In its BRG colour with chrome wire wheels I was really quite taken with it.........probably the first time an E Type has ever done that for me!
