Discover everything you need to know about the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray. Aaron Link, Global Vehicle Performance Manager and Kirk Bennion, Exterior Design Manager for Corvette present all the details that went into designing and building the quickest #corvette ever.
It’s all about first: electrified, all-wheel drive, to reach 655hp and to from 0 to 60mph in 2.5 seconds. Supercar speed!

With an 80 cell battery pack, the front axle receives the instant electric torque of 160hp, paired to LT2 V8 engine from the Stingray which produces 495hp.

The AWD system, combined to the standard Michelin Pilot tires (the largest all seasons ever installed on a factory vehicle), has been tested in the most inclement weather to guarantee astounding performances, even on snow.

The new #corvette E-Ray standard equipment also includes the aero package, exposed carbon fiber parts, large carbon ceramic Brembo brakes and newly designed 5 spoke wheels.

Thanks to the addition of “Stealth” mode, the two-seater can be driven in complete silent propulsion, only through its electric motor, up to 45mph.

I haven't looked at the information available in any 'depth' - but how many miles is a fully charged battery good for if using 'Sleath' mode I wonder?

The 1.9 kilowatt-hour battery is small compared with a full electric vehicle. It’s positioned under the console.
You can’t plug it in to recharge it, but it gets energy restored from regenerative braking and from the V8 motor.

It can be driven in “stealth mode” up to 45 mph for about two miles to quietly leave a neighborhood, GM says.

Stealth mode will only work during a cold start. You cannot utilize it after the engine has warmed up.

Additionally, Stealth seems very limited in most ambient temperature operations.
If you live in Houston, and it's 105 degrees out, there is no way you would engage Stealth mode from a cold start.

Or, if you're from Chicago, and it's -10 F degrees out, this would be the case as well.

Currently, no HVAC operations will work in Stealth mode.
There is no all-electric A/C compressor, or all-electric cabin heater as battery is too small

So in terms of range E-Ray much as per most earlier Lexus's? - guess the E-Ray battery is larger though and optimised for the short, sharp sudden 4 or 5 second bursts out there on the street - typically when you're looking to thrash the ass of the guy in the car next to you away from the traffic lights.........or......speedy efficent 4WD assisted overtaking. That principle works well - up to a few years ago I ran a BMW mini SUV with 3 banger turbo auto up front - and hybrid electric rear axle (reverse of the E-Ray) it worked well turning what would have been a 10/11 second 0-60 performance into a sub 7 second one when the electric pack kicked-in.......and effectively 4WD!

E-Ray really is about upping performance, it comes on when into non-straight angles so that the ups the torque and HP to
help pull the car through corners with AWD, so great for racing or even autocrosses

Reason there is no higher MPG rating and the battery is more like a router of generated voltage to battery is then forwarded to the electric motor.

On gas costs though, the E Ray does not have $3,000 gas guzzler tax as the Z06 has
yet a lot more torque when needed than Z06 has with Stingray fuel mileage
