To be fair, the outside of my cars can look similar to that very quickly in winter here. I live out in the sticks, lots of single track "roads" covered in farm overspill, tractor mud, general dirt etc.

I cleaned my car before going out in it the other day. It was a dry day, didn't rain. BUT roads still covered in rubbish. I got to my destination and the car was dirty so I had to give it a quick clean as it was taking part in a funeral procession at the request of a CCCUK member. Naturally it got dirty on the way home afterwards too, and is still dirty in my garage. Really no point cleaning my cars often as they'll just be dirty moments later when I drive them. Handily I hate cleaning cars with a passion, so it works out.

When having the use of company cars I would look forward to the service intervals (once at 6000 miles or so increments - which at one time for me could be 3 months or less)..........the dealers typically valeted the cars before collection, thereby saving me the job.......as time went on and service intervals to perhaps 10K, 12K, (even 22K on a new BMW) I was 'forced' to do the job myself. BTW I would rather leave the car dirty than put it though a car or hand wash........to many experiences historically of finding deep scratches on cars.......

The unit where I keep my Vette is 1.5 miles off the nearest main road and is single track most of the way and passes three farms and ends up next door to a large riding stables . Need I say any more ??? ☹️
