EU headlight compliance

An ex CCCUK member and buddy is moving over to Spain and taking his C5 with him. He is in the process of sorting the paperwork and new Spanish registration but is being told the headlights need to be EU compliant? - presumably it has USA specification lighting. Is that similar to the C6 with non specific sided dipping? - does he need separate pilot lights and headlamp washers?

Presumably that's a US spec C5 he has? If so, will have "flat beam" headlights, as did a US spec C6s i.e don't dip to the left or right I understand. US spec C5s & C6s imported to the UK will have been SVA or IVA tested after fitting side turn indicator lights and orange rear turn indicator lights. Changes to headlights/washers were not required. Obviously being US cars, they dont come with a European Certificate of Conformity (CoC) Certificate.

Not sure what info/tests the Spanish will accept/do on a non EU car before registering it? Someone was telling me recently that most European manufactured cars have flat beam headlights?
