Front lights problem

Very rarely drive the car in the dark but did last night. When I turned the side lights on only the drivers side came on, same with the dipped headlights. Full beam worked fine on both sides, however about half way home they kept intermittently dipping to nothing and flashing straight back on. Luckily I was following a mate with another one behind who knew I was having problems. Anyone have any idea what the problem(s) might be? Earth or connection issue perhaps?

I don't know if C2 lights are the same as my 78, but if they are then the issue with the main beam cutting out is probably the circuit breaker in the light switch. You can fix this by fitting a relay as described here Headlamp relays.
Again on my C3, the earth for the dip beam and main beam are shared so that's not likely to be the problem with the dip beam. Could be a blown bulb, corroded bulb holder, or bad connection on the power lead (on my car the dip beam power goes to the drivers side first then on to the passenger side)

Be more helpful if you stated what year your C2 is ?
What does "dipped" mean ?

Have you moved around or tapped in the light switch to see if it's a contact issue in the switch ?

With lights on, wiggle the wiring connectors of lights and see if headlights change
Follow wires and look for where they are ground to see if corroded or bad wiring pins of connectors

What does "dipped" mean ? Headlights on but not main beam

Have you moved around or tapped in the light switch to see if it's a contact issue in the switch ? I assumed as the drivers side lights were working it couldn't be a switch issue as surely no lights would come on?

With lights on, wiggle the wiring connectors of lights and see if headlights change Have tried this to no avail
Follow wires and look for where they are ground to see if corroded or bad wiring pins of connectors Not tried this yet

Thanks for the reply

The switch would have different contacts inside and could be a issue,
so see if jiggle the switch around while watching to see if lights goes from low to high beams or flickers

I located wiring for 1963 so follow the wiring such as notice I black boxed where all lights go to one ground point

Not sure if I gave you this before but
I attached below the GM engineering book for the 1963 C2 as a PDF
It is about 170 pages and where I got the wiring from and has all the other details of the design
