Fuel Pump Rod stuck C3 427

Good evening all,
I'm after your experience and advice again.
New fuel pump arrived ( found that old one wasn't pumping enough fuel to carb - reason for not able to keep it running). I followed the correct procedure for taking the old one out ( inserting a longer bolt to hold rod back…) but what I didn't check was to see if the rod would move anyway.... And guess what?? It doesn't and is stuck, solid !!!
Have soaked it in carb cleaner, hand turned the engine to top position...and still can't get it out.
Have electric fuel pump on order - can I block it up and leave it in????
I don't have the expertise to take the front of the car off and it will have to be trailered to a garage....
Thank you for any help 🙏 ☺️

Barb - the fuel pump pushrod is 5.75" long.........where has it disappeared to? - it should slide freely in and out of the block. Has threr been an attempt to start the engine with the pushrod and fuel pump lever not engaged properly.......is the pushrod bent? - if so and its jammed is the other end pushed up against the camshaft?.......

I would not be turning that engine over until using a borescope into that opening and find out
the condition of that rod and in seeing it if they can use long nose pillars or a magnet to get it out and if
bent, have to replace it

Yes the engine has been hand cranked to reach the top movement ( not sure exact words - electrician working on car was helping). And yes the spark plugs removed and cranked over with no fuel pump attached. It's possible it's bent as the guy managed to move it further up the shaft. Trying to release it if gunked up with stuff.
What a disaster 😭. I'm now left to try and work the best way forward.

Hiya I can just about get pillars in but it's not budging. I haven't got a bore scope and can you get powerful magnets. It's absolutely solid. So frustrating as 95% ready for the road.
If anyone is near North Essex and willing to have a go, your more than welcome.
Bacon and egg rolls on offer 😆
