GM Recalls 2024-25 Chevrolet Corvettes
The latest reports on the 2025 Corvette suggest that September 9 is when customer vehicles will start rolling off the assembly line in Bowling Green.
However, as per the attached report, GM has issued a recall for 2024 and 2025 models produced through March 22, 2024, over a safety concern.

Before going into said recall, bear in mind that GM's first ex-VIN 2025 Corvette ZR1 was produced at the beginning of February 2024.
Indeed, the big news for 2025 is the introduction of the all-new ZR1, which is going to be revealed soon.

The biggest change over the supercharged monster from a few years back is the switch from a supercharged 6.2L small block (the LT5) to a twin-turbo 5.5L double-overhead-cam V8 (the LT7).

Bowling Green has been the home of the Corvette since 1981.
Recalled C8s were assembled in the period between September 18, 2023, and March 22, 2024. The problem with said vehicles?
That would be their seatbelt retractors, which, under certain conditions, may become locked in the stowed position.
Two internal components with out-of-spec dimensions are to blame for this condition.

Both the driver and passenger seatbelt retractor assemblies come from the ZF Group's Livonia, Michigan subsidiary. ZF Friedrichshafen AG

Back on February 26 this year, a GM engineer signaled this problem to the safety boffins via the Detroit-based automaker's ignition switch recall-era Speak Up For Safety program. April 9 is when the largest automaker of the Detroit Big Three started looking into the matter.
Based on feedback from the supplier, GM identified 56 field complaints related to seatbelts locked in the stowed position due to dimensionally incorrect seatbelt retractor parts.

Thankfully for General Motors and Corvette owners, no instances of injuries related to this condition have been reported thus far. As you might have guessed by now, dealers nationwide will be much obliged to replace iffy seatbelt retractors.

Owners, meanwhile, will have to wait until July 22 to be notified via first-class mail.
GM will execute this recall under three bulletins, namely N242441390, N242441391, and N242441392.

Also, worthy of note, containment efforts were initiated at Bowling Green Assembly Plant on April 29.
The automaker has also issued a stop-delivery order at the beginning of June 2024, which reads that replacement retractors aren't currently available.
Until further notice, dealers are not allowed to deliver any of the affected vehicles.
