— DXDT Racing heads to the 16-turn, 2.4 mile Barber Motorsports Park this weekend looking to replicate the team’s first one-two overall finish in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS competition, achieved last time out at Road America. The Pro class No. 63 KÜHL Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Alec Udell and Tommy Milner are aiming to add to their six-race winning streak, while Bryan Sellers and Bryson Morris will be striving to return to the top step in the Pro-Am class with a new number on the side of their car.

The Pro-Am class KÜHL Corvette will now compete as the No. 64, a venerated number in the history of Corvette Racing. The marque has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times with the No. 64, including once with Milner behind the wheel in 2015. Now, Sellers and Morris will be hoping to return the No. 64 to the top step in the final sprint round of the season at Barber.

In the Pro class, Udell and Milner have been nothing short of dominant. After starting their season at the Circuit of the Americas in May, the duo have won in class six out of six times and, while still mathematical long shots, have dragged themselves into championship contention with two sprint races and the Indy 8H remaining in the season. With just three more opportunities to close the points gap, the team knows how important the details are.

“I’ve been in racing long enough now to know that you can easily have these highs and lows in racing,” said Milner. “When things are good, you try to take advantage of them as long as you can because there is no guarantee that it will continue on.”

“We're trying to ride the wave of success with DXDT Racing. The team is doing a great job. No one is leaving anything on the table. So we are still pushing forward to make sure we have great race cars and get everyone up to speed as quickly as we can.”

We jump straight into the action with practice on Friday, before two 90-minute races on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
As always, you can follow along with the action on our social media channels and watch every session from qualifying onward on youtube.com/GTWorld!

First GT America race completed with results which was wins for both Corvette GT3.R in Pro and Pro-Am classes

There was no shortage of action in Race 1 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America, powered by AWS championship. It was a perfect day at the office for DXDT Racing, who clinched the race one wins in the Pro class with Alec Udell and Tommy Milner, and the Pro-Am category with Bryson Morris and Bryan Sellers.

Pro

Udell retained the lead in his No. 63 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R as the green flag waved to commence the first 90-minute race of the weekend. Luca Mars ran into some trouble early on, as the driver of the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 EVO22 was swallowed up by the pack and overtaken by Conor Daly in the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3.

ST Racing opted for an alternate strategy as Bill Auberlen took the opening stint in the No. 28 BMW M4 GT3, and moved ahead of Mars as well before engaging in a tight battle with Daly.

As Milner took over from Udell during the driver change and pit stop, it appeared as though they would continue to sail around the track on their own terms. However, Kenton Koch had other plans as he took over the reins of the Random Vandals Racing machine, trying with all his might to hunt down the leading Corvette.

Koch continued to chip away at the gap, clocking in some of the fastest laps of the race in the process, and the two were running nose to tail for a big portion of the second half of the race. However, Milner expertly managed the mounting pressure from behind, and responded in turn to keep Koch behind.

The Team Chevy driver took the checkered flag to claim the team’s seventh consecutive win of the season, running undefeated ever since they made their debut in the championship back in Austin. The string of victories has truly brought them into championship title contention with only a couple of races to go, as they have once again reduced the points gap to Wright Motorsports.

Meanwhile, Zach Veach made a daring move on Varun Choksey in the final laps to move his Racers Edge Motorsports machine back up into podium position to take home third place.

When speaking about his battle with Koch, Milner said, “He definitely pushed me hard today. We knew track position was going to be crucial, and while we didn’t think we had the fastest car, the support on the tires at the end was fantastic. Kenton really pushed me, no doubt, but he could have made it even tougher.
I appreciate that, though.
I’m expecting a more intense race next time. I’m really excited for DXDT Racing, for Alec, my teammate, and for this incredible team.
Seven wins in seven races, it’s beyond anything we could’ve ever dreamed of. I’ve gotten so comfortable with this Corvette after all the time I’ve spent driving it.

With the recent testing and practice, I knew right away what the car needed. We had the preferred strategy, and that first lap really helped create a gap that let me run my own race.”

Pro-Am

It was a dramatic start for Pro-Am championship contenders ST Racing and Turner Motorsport, as Samantha Tan, driving the No. 38 BMW M4 GT3, made contact with Justin Rothberg in the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 on the opening lap. The latter was sent spinning off-track, and Tan had to serve two consecutive drive-through penalties for a start violation and incident responsibility.

Meanwhile, Phillip Ellis was doing what he does best on board the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 putting in rapid laps and creating a gap to the rest of the class field. He was running second overall before handing over the machine to co-driver Jeff Burton, who was given a 43s advantage to utilize.
Burton put in a stellar performance as he went wheel-to-wheel and held his own alongside Pro competitors, however, he had a 2s post-race time penalty looming over him for a short pit stop.

Sellers was fast-approaching in the No. 64 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, joined by Trent Hindman in the No. 85 RS1 Porsche 992 GT3 R just behind, and they caught up to Burton in the final laps.

With just 3m on the clock, Sellers made a deep dive into the inside of Burton to move up into the Pro-Am lead, going on to take DXDT Racing’s second Pro-Am victory of the year.
The time penalty for Regulator Racing ultimately promoted RS1’s Hindman and Jake Pedersen to second place on the podium, while Robby Foley and Rothberg were able to recover to third place, an important result for their championship pursuit.

“He’s young but has the racing IQ of someone with decades of experience,” Sellers said about his teammate Morris. “He’s done an outstanding job for us. It’s not easy to come into a team full of veterans and be the young guy, but he fits in perfectly and performs exceptionally well. His first stint was incredible, super consistent, and we’re just thrilled to have him on board.
He’s someone who’s going to grow and become a major force in this sport.”

“It feels great to have two wins now,” echoed Bryson. “I’m getting more and more comfortable with the car, and of course, Bryan has been a huge help in that. I’m grateful he was able to finish strong and bring home the win today.
A big thanks to everyone, and congratulations to DXDT for their double podiums here today.”
In the Am class, Jay Schreibman and Oswaldo Negri finished fourteenth overall in the No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3.

“That was probably one of the toughest drives I’ve ever done, but a win’s a win, and we’ll gladly take it. It was a lot of fun,” Schreibman said.
“It’s amazing to be back at Barber, it’s such a great, technical, and challenging track,” explained Negri.

“We’re here getting ready for next year, finding our rhythm, and I’m really enjoying it. They pulled me out of the cobwebs, and here I am, happy to be back. I couldn’t ask for more.”

The Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS field will return for race two on Sunday, September 8th at 2:15 p.m. CT.

Tommy Milner and Alec Udell took their eighth consecutive victory of the season in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS by winning Race 2 at Barber Motorsports Park after a late unplanned stop for Random Vandals Racing.

Udell took the No. 63 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R across the line with a lead of 4.690 seconds over the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Varun Choksey and Bill Auberlen.

The Corvette ran in second place behind the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW in the hands of Conor Daly heading into the final ten minutes, with the North Carolina-based squad seemingly poised to halt DXDT’s undefeated streak at seven races.

That was until Daly came in for fuel with under six minutes to go, with the team suffering from a reported fuel flow issue on the refueling rig and going a lap down as a result.
Udell was subsequently able to remain clear of Auberlen to claim an eighth straight win and close the points gap to Wright Motorsports to seven points heading into the Indianapolis 8 Hour.

The No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis completed the overall podium and took the Pro-Am win in the process.
Burton ran at the tail of the field when he handed over to Ellis, with a safety car with just under 30 minutes remaining, then bringing the No. 91 car into contention.
That neutralization was triggered when Elias Sabo spun into the Turn 15 gravel aboard the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW.

After the restart, Mercedes-AMG factory driver Ellis stormed up the order and took the class lead with a pass on the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW of Justin Rothberg with sixteen minutes to go.

Rothberg and Robby Foley finished fourth overall, ahead of the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 driven by Luca Mars and Zach Veach in fifth.
Mars completed a late pass on the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R to capture a Pro-class podium, dropping Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer to fourth in class as a a result.

Samantha Tan and Neil Verhagen rounded off the Pro-Am podium in the No. 38 BMW in seventh overall, ahead of the No. 64 DXDT Racing Chevrolet and No. 88 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 of Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini.

The overall top ten was completed by the No. 85 RS1 Porsche in the hands of Jake Pedersen and Trent Hindman.
15 out of 16 cars originally entered for the race took the start on Sunday, as the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Mercedes-AMG was withdrawn, having sustained damage in an incident during the GT America powered by AWS race earlier in the day.

I included the race's video below that is 2 hours long

Momentum and luck went the way of Tommy Milner and Alec Udell again as the pair drove DXDT Racing’s No. 63 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R to its seventh and eighth straight GT World Challenge America Pro-class victories at Barber Motorsports Park.

Milner and Udell set a record for consecutive victories in the Pro class with their fourth consecutive weekend sweep. More importantly, the results set up a winner-take-all showdown for the Pro Drivers and Teams championships at next month’s Eight Hours of Indianapolis to close the season with the No. 63 duo second in the standings but only seven points behind.

Barber also marked the second consecutive double-win for DXDT Racing with the Z06 GT3.Rs also picking up a second Pro-Am victory for Bryan Sellers and Bryson Morris following Race One in the newly minted No. 64 Corvette.

Saturday was a showcase all the way around for DXDT and the No. 63 Corvette. Udell captured pole position for the first of two 90-minute races and led for the bulk of his opening stint. Factory driver Milner cycled through the lead and withstood a massive challenge from the second-place BMW with the two cars running less than a second apart for the better part of 25 minutes to the end.

Meanwhile, Morris advanced from third to second in his opening stint with Sellers chasing down and eventually passing for the class lead and win with a little less than four minutes remaining. It marked the second victory in three races for the new pairing.

In Race Two, the outlook appeared dim for another win for Milner and Udell. The Corvette started second in class but sixth overall, and Milner survived multiple rounds of contact on the opening lap but held his position in class. He swapped over to Udell with 50 minutes to go. The DXDT pit crew was more than two seconds faster in the pitlane than the class-leading BMW, which got Udell that much closer to the front.

Following a full-course yellow and restart with 20 minutes left, Udell was comfortably in second and pushing to catch the leader when the BMW had to pit with a fuel issue, allowing the Corvette to speed past for the unlikely victory.

Sellers and Morris came up just short of another Pro-Am podium and placed fourth in class.

DXDT Racing closes the GT World Challenge America season with its two Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs at the Eight Hours of Indianapolis – part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 2-6.

DXDT RACING CORVETTE POST-EVENT QUOTES

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 63 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R:

“It was very hard today, for sure. We got lucky at the start. I got hit twice on the left-rear and thought something was broken or wrong, but I think the track was just super-dirty. We were lucky to get away with that one. As we expected, we weren’t the fastest car. Alec did a great job, and we had a great pit stop. This DXDT team just excels in every area.
I’m really proud to be part of this race team and to drive this Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Everyone keeps asking about the championship, and I didn’t want to talk about it for a long time. But after today for us, things are falling into our hands. Now it’s a discussion, and I’m happy to go to Indy with a good chance to win it.”

(On Saturday’s win): “We knew track position was going to be big. We didn’t think we had the fastest car out there, but this Corvette was amazing on the tires at the end. The 99 pushed me very hard and probably could have made it a little harder for me, for sure. I’m super-excited for DXDT and Alec my teammate. This team… unbelievable. I could never have dreamed this.”

ALEC UDELL, NO. 63 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R:

“The 99 BMW was quick all weekend and really showed their pace in the race today. We were just trying to hitch a line to them and drag as far as we could. It’s a bummer for them, but Tommy and I will pick up the pieces, and we’ll take the win. You take what comes to you.
We maximized what we had today and just got lucky that the 99 had an issue, which you never like to see from a racing perspective, but it’s racing, and we’ve all been on that side of the game before. Great job and really happy for the team today.”

BRYAN SELLERS, NO. 64 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R:

(on teammate Bryson Morris after Saturday’s Pro-Am win) “He’s young but has the racing IQ of someone with decades of experience. He’s done an outstanding job for us. It’s not easy to come into a team full of veterans and be the young guy, but he fits in perfectly and performs exceptionally well. His first stint was incredible, super consistent, and we’re just thrilled to have him on board. He’s someone who’s going to grow and become a major force in this sport.”

BRYSON MORRIS, NO. 64 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R:

“It feels great to have two wins now. I’m getting more and more comfortable with the car, and of course, Bryan has been a huge help in that. I’m grateful he was able to finish strong and bring home the win. A big thanks to everyone and congratulations to DXDT for their double podium.”
