I would have said it`s a 1981 with that glass rear window and what looks like the hinge fixings on the top edge . Someone went to a lot of effort with mods if its not . It`s got my rear wing !!!DSC_4840.JPG

Love the overall concept of the car - don't like the rear fender/rear light panel arrangement.......would prefer to see full width rear panel.

Just looked it up on BAT . Someone sure went to town on that car in a big way what with carving out the rear deck and everything to fit a late year rear window . Looking at all the photos from various angles , the wheel / tyre combo doesn`t fill the arches enough despite being 265 and 295 x 15 inch rims IMO .

Most probably built in the late 1970’s from a wrecked car. The custom/modified car craze was in full swing and corvettes were a favourite to customise. Probably a big money build at the time.
Probably had the WOW factor back in the day, now it’s got the WTF factor unfortunately

There were quite a few Vette's over here 'back in the day' re-built into a later version....typically an 'early' chrome bumper C3 using a later rubber bumper car. And at least one, perhaps two cars with replica Mako Shark front ends grafted-on.

Many people nowadays forget that come the mid 1970’s ie 75/76 chrome bumper corvettes were “old hat”. Everyone wanted the new “plastic “ bumpers for that modern look.

There was a white '71, perhaps '72 350 Vette that had been pranged on the front end - the late great Nicky Orme grafted-on one of these (or similar) front ends - its was only a few hundred yards away from where we lived at the time (just off Victoria Road, Romford). Back then (mid/late 70's) I was more in to Ford's so a Vette didn't really 'do it' for me........but I always thought the extended 'conk' was a bit of a trip hazard......it seemed so low (much like this)
