The Vette magazine is superb and a credit to those who put it together.
IMO is should be supported/ augmented by a much more active social media - such as Facebook.
These is a FB site but nobody uses it.
The BBC site is too inaccessible for folks younger than me and the membership needs something more friendly to use.
Can we have an article in the Mag to prod members, much as Billy Crystal does is the Scottish edition.

I always thought the CCCUK Facebook page was quite lively - a fairly balanced 50/50 mix perhaps of existing 'paid-up' CCCUK members who (for whatever reason) prefer the Facebook site rather than the dedicated CCCUK forum.
You'll also see perhaps the non-members who may 'dip-in' to the page when looking for hints and info (maybe prior to vehicle purchase) and individuals choosing not to 'officially' join-up/pay club fees/whatever but still want a level of communication with other Vette owners.
Have you reached this address in error? - last post here was 19th August..........yes it is confusing I know but perhaps the reason why it appears as though no one is using it?

I'm confused. Whats/where's the "BBC" site? Whats Billy Crystal doing? Is that the CCCUK Scotland Facebook page/forum?

Never seen that one before? As we know, if you click on the Facebook Forum on here, it takes you to the very active forum. But see that if you click on "Visit Group" at the top right, it takes you to the active Facebook page.

Totally agree with you! The magazine is brilliant, but an active social media presence would really help keep members engaged and attract younger folks. It’s a shame the Facebook page isn’t more active, as that could be a great platform for members to connect, share, and stay updated. I love the idea of featuring an article in the Mag to give members a nudge—following Billy Crystal’s approach sounds like a perfect fit. It could help boost online participation and make the community even stronger!

Most of us owners don't know about the secret BBC site because we are only mere mortal Small Block owners.....
Funny! Thats was my initial thought, BBC = Big Block Corvette? Not that size matters eh guys? So what/where is it? Or is it a figment of someone's imagination?

1) What's "not active" about the CCCUK Facebook page?
2) What is Billy Crystal doing? Haven't a clue, apart from a Scottish Facebook page?
3) How do you see/get a copy of the magazine? You are shown above as a "Regular User" since March 2022 (5 messages). Not a paid up member of the Club?

There seems to be a lot of confusion following your post, so could you please clarify:
Which CCCUK Facebook are you referring to? The "Corvette Club UK page" or the "Classic Corvette Club UK Group" - the latter is the active page
What is the BBC site?
I wasn't aware that Billy Crystal produces a Scottish edition - is this in addition to Vette News and how is it circulated?

I sent an email to dfraser314 shortly after this thread started, through membermojo, asking similar questions to those posed above. To date I have not received any reply from him. The comments above reveal what we already knew, that the FB page is active. Many regions also have individual regional FB pages, but that is down to each individual regional rep to produce and maintain. I have also asked if the original poster could produce an article in the vain that he suggests for consideration for publication in the magazine or to at least to clarify his statements. I still await any reply.

Case of mistaken identity? ;) Billy Crystal is of course the well known American actor and comedian? The Scottish Rep/Admin on Corvette Scotland Facebook is Willie Chrystal? :)

I think that David 'dips' in and out of the forum 'as and when'........

I did highlight this 'peculiarity' of Facebook access quite a few years ago when I was on the committee........I just couldn't figure out back then (and now TBH) how there were seemingly two identities available.........is it a potential 'hazard' for anyone trawling around the 'net looking for a UK based Corvette forum or source of information? - perhaps.
I did mention the 'anonomoly' to fellow committee members at the time but no one else seemed to 'grasp' what the hell I was on about.
On the basis that it was only me who 'saw' the possible issues I didn't persue it any further other than to discuss it with Ben at the time.
This was about the time I had asked him to source the (then) new website/forum package. Ben did explain the supposed 'anonomoly'..........but TBH Ben's explanation was way above my intelligence grade - and there didn't seem to be any operational issues so left things well alone.

There's a surprise, Colin!
