I think number 6 "Pull the E-brake to allow the hatch to open" really shows the difference in attitude between the UK and US to the hand brake/e-brake. We all get taught to engage it whenever the car is stopped, even in traffic so it would probably be more of a surprise to us that you CAN'T open it without the handbrake pulled as I don't think anyone would ever try over here without putting it on first

If you want to have the ign key on, but engine off
To reduce voltage drain is before turning key on is to set the e-brake and in doing so when key is turned on
the parking lights will not come on

If you cannot open the driver's door, but can open the hatch
Pull the carpet back in the hatch below the B-pillar to find a pull wire, pulling that will unlatch the driver's door
Also, a pull wire by very left corner below the dash to pull when cannot get hood to open
Also in the left rear of the hatch, pull the carpet back to find a vent which has a flap
This could get stuck closed and prevents smells or pressure relief when cabin temps get high
