Insurance

Morning all. I'm hopeful that I can import my GCC spec Z06 with ZO7 Pack into the UK next month and am looking for a company to insure it when it arrives. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Cheers for that. Admiral are my insurance provider for my other cars so good to hear what you said. I'll proceed and update the thread when I have a result.
Shame about Ian Allen 😕

Can I jump on this thread also with my 2001 C5 Targa???

My current insurer (Adrian Flux) have sent me and my wife a disgustingly extortionate renewal price on our shared multi car policy for this coming year!

After speaking to them today on the phone and pointing out that I've had much MUCH cheaper quotes online already, they offered me a measly £100 (approx) discount on my renewal price, which was still around £200 more than I paid last year!
The biggest kicker being that last year I insured 4 cars, and this year I'm trying to renew only 3 😡 but they still randomly want more money!
I asked them why it's so much more expensive despite another years no claims bonus and one less vehicle etc. and they hit me with "the Lexus you and your wife share is almost £1000 on its own"... after a simple online comparison quote, the 2004 Lexus SC430 in question came back as cheap as £316 for both of us on one policy! and I even put it down as zero years no claims bonus just for a quick quote!
We currently have 12 years no claims bonus on the policy! (Which should actually be 15 years now but an admin error they made in the past, meant I unknowingly suffered the loss of 3 years until noticed the following year... but was simply told 'unlucky').
They have even once said to me in the past (when yet again, challenging an extortionate renewal price) that the reason MY insurance has increased is because a lot of other people have had accidents... so what's the point in collating no claims if I'm then paying for others?!
Shocking from a company who's advertisement whilst on hold says "we treat everyone as individuals"... but your price is reflected on others that are claiming anyway apparently 🤷‍♂️
It's not a relevant excuse for simply wanting to empty my wallet of every penny! Just because they feel they can...

They've been terrible and I've now took the decision to insure my vehicles elsewhere, even if it means startimg a few policies fresh with zero no claims bonus. It's still working out HUGELY cheaper than Adrain Flux! (Almost half the price!!!)
It looks like they've been stinging me and my wife an extra £600-£1000 (on average) each year by making us believe that a 'multi car policy' was the best option 👍
More fool me for not shopping around properly. But I won't be recommending Adrian Flux to anyone ever, and I'll certainly be airing all of this through the power of social media and online reviews!

Sorry for the long rant but hopefully you can see why I'm so annoyed with the way I've been treated and with what's now come to light.

So I'm looking for some recommendations please 🙂👍

Maybe some of the raising rates of vehicle insurance is due to millions of illegal aliens who have
no driver's license, no insurance, no license plates, driving stolen vehicles and have a high crash rate and many times
it is a hit-and-run as they do not stop and all of the above costs from them force insurance to have to pay out for those who have insurance

Consider here in the USA they say there can be as high as 30 million illegals here so you can see what costs they have on Americans

Add the high cost of EVs crash damage and the high insurance costs to repair them

Then add the greedy insurance companies as example

I used just 1 insurance company for 30 years
Then one year was time to renew, and they send me a letter saying they will no longer insure my cars as some bean counter of theirs did some math and stated since I never had an accident or filed a claim that the odds were that I would crash soon, and they would not want to have to pay out :-(

Interesting 25 years later I still have not crashed out and only 1 traffic ticket in 60 years driving

It really does pay to shop around at every renewal. Yes, it takes a little time, but can save you a lot of money.
Can get "a bit surreal"? I have no idea why my LV multi (two) car premium had gone "down" from £879 to £738 (16%). Nothing to do with me calling them etc and I already had the max NCB. But I thought I would still have a look, so put my/car details on the Compare the Market to get two separate quotes for the cars. Quotes came up from Aviva that combined were £698 before the "add on bits". I have used Aviva before/like them (Defaqto 5 Star rated policies) including having my C6 insured with them some years ago.

So thought I could maybe do even better than that, by getting a multi-car quote directly from Aviva on their website. Did that and asked for the protected NCB (£82) Motor Legal (£29), Personal Accident (£10) and RAC Breakdown (£34) to match my existing LV cover. Their quote? £1,552 !!!" Surreal or What?

Literally make it up as they go along!
It's disgusting they are allowed to get away with it!
I've been doing quotes each night after work, filling in the same answers every time... the pricr ranges hugely day by day with the same insurers and with using all the same details!
As a motorcycle mechanic, it'd be no different me charging someone £50 an hour today, then £120 an hour tomorrow for the same job to the same customer!
Its an absolute joke and it should be cracked down on massively!!!

Totally agree , they are milking honest drivers who need insurance cover to drive legally and relying on the fact that many people can`t be bothered to shop around . Customer loyalty counts for nothing .
