It shouldn't happen to a Corvette...

Iā€™m surprised that someone would adorn their C8 with a political candidate as it would then be a target for vandalism. Especially a corvette.

In the typical American way their general election is much like our own recent election (and I have so say the result of the Conservative 'leader' slection just announced) - a choice between poles-apart no-hopers. How can individual political parties in our respective countries 'field' such inapropriate, ill fitting lunatic or inadequate candidates for leading the country (or party?) - perhaps the truth is that they are only choosing a 'mouthpiece' - anything that comes out of the 'mouth' and other major choices are decided by a back-room committee?

Have to agree Ross. How a country the size of America can't find better that Biden, Harris and Trump defies belief. Harris is totally unqualified for the positio0n of CIC and you could say she was inserted into the nominated role illegally as there was no vote to find the best Democrat candidate. She has history of being lazy, late to meetings, abusive to staff and maybe even an alcohol problem which I could believe seeing some of her word salad ramblings..

At least Trump says what he will do then at least tried to do as he intended with the interest of America his first priority. He just needs to engage his brain before opening his mouth more.

Biden was a Obama puppet allowing Obama to continue is efforts to as he said "fundamentally change America" for the worst no doubt.

End of the day, here, there or any country 99% of politicians are only in it to line their own pockets and do sweetheart deals for their mates.

And while I'm foaming at the mouth :geek: had a mate round today to do some work on his C3 and like me he owns a small to medium sized company with us employing roughly the same amount of employed staff. Job on the car done we started talking about the recent budget and what the repercussions were for both of us and it's huge. I haven't calculated to direct increase in cost via additional TAX but he had and close to a 100k per year increase coming his way. We'll be higher as we have staff on much higher salaries. Great. Just increase your prices they say.. Not that easy in the real world you pompous, out of touch rich prick.

In the last 8 years we have trained eight teenagers who start on minimum wage and get their first pay increase if they are retained at 3 months then another at one year. We invest fortunes in NVQ and other training courses for those that reach two years. The coming raise in minimum wage makes it impossible for us to train teenagers any more and creates a huge issue as you have to pay a snot nosed fresh out of school lazy arsed kid 20 odd grand which is getting too close to junior engineers pay so we have to raise their pay too to maintain that incentive to work hard. They get too close to intermediate engineers so they have to get a pay raise. They get too close to senior engineers on 60/70k so you guessed it, they get a pay raise.

We are ALL going to suffer at the hands of the TAX & SPEND Labour party and I'll bet we'll get to see absolute SQUAT from it. The raised funds for potholes, hospitals, schools etc will all get spunked away as usual then they'll come back for more.

Rant off, wine time.

Have a great evening!

As politics is frond upon here, this next few months not only effects future of Corvettes but also the reduction of EVs or not and
if this goes badly as to election results which may not be resolved 2 months after Nov 5th but 2 months later and like it or not
will affect the whole planet and as for UK your PM opening his mouth to badmouth Trump and also sent over 100 plus British people
to the USA 6 weeks ago to lobby a bias Americans not to vote for Trump, and you're all paying for those 100 people as to all costs in airfare, hotels, food, expenses
Americans are not taking it kindly and have long memories

This may destroy the USA and the fact now said that British born are only 42 % of makeup of the UK, very scary to the future

No doubt the larger companies will be in a better position by employing smart-ass economists/accountants/lawyers to mitigate the costs of these changes - smaller companies will only be able to raise prices to cover the changes and potentially lose business. Our 'new' incumbants just haven't a clue about how the UK really works

I wonder what the UK's electorate would have thought about Labour's 'meddling' with USA politics if they knew before they casted votes at the recent election?

All over the news here in the USA and pissing off many people big time

Just days before the November 5th election, the Trump-Vance campaign filed a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint against Kamala Harrisā€™s presidential campaign and the far-left British Labour Party.

The complaint accuses both parties of illegal foreign contributions and election interference, raising concerns about the integrity of the upcoming election.

The Trump-Vance teamā€™s accusation centers on recent reports that the British Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, has sent nearly 100 staffers to the U.S. to support Harrisā€™s campaign in critical battleground states, including Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Labour Party operatives, under the direction of Sofia Patel, have reportedly been deployed to help sway these key states in favor of Harris, a move that Trumpā€™s legal team is calling a blatant violation of U.S. election laws.

A since-deleted LinkedIn post by Patel, the Labour Partyā€™s head of operations, boasted about mobilizing staff for Harrisā€™s campaign, stating: ā€œI have nearly 100 Labour Party staff (current and former) going to the US in the next few weeks heading to North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.ā€

The post also made an offer to ā€œsort housingā€ for these foreign operatives, raising red flags about the Labour Partyā€™s direct involvement in the U.S. election process.

The far-left Labour Party has inspired Kamalaā€™s dangerously liberal policies and rhetoric. In recent weeks, they have recruited and sent party members to campaign for Kamala in critical battleground states, attempting to influence our election.
