Looking for a C4 or C3 for under £20,000

I am looking to purchase my first Corvette this year and hopefully before Nationals. I am looking for a 1990 - 1996 C4 preferably with a manual gearbox as most I have seen for sale so far are automatics. A C3 would be my second choice as they are fairly common and there are quite a few for sale and a manual shouldn't be too hard to find if I can't find a C4.

Of the later C3s [i.e. non-chrome bumper models] around 80% were automatic. For the 90-96 models, manuals were between roughly 20% - 30% of production depending on year. They are out there but it might take a while for one to come up. You would have more chance of finding one in the States and importing it yourself if you wanted to. Whichever way you go, a Corvette will bring you lots of fun!! So good luck and good hunting!

A manual C5 has just come up for sale here in Essex and is well within your price range. Well worth considering perhaps although it is not likely to hang around for long.

Check TCS in Danbury and it's also on eBay (y)

Good luck with your search . Had mine for 28 years . Should use it more as only 34k on the clock and it’s an l98 not an lt1 that you’re looking for. Good ones getting harder to find in the uk.

Thanks 88 hence plate B8 VET which from a distance looks like 88 vet. It’s also one of only 120 European export versions built in this year and one of the cars featured in Tom Falconers book on c4s . Won multiple show awards when I used to show it but not been to any in years due to time.

Looks very nice. It’s nice to see an original un-modified car. 28 years ownership, you must like it then 😂
I like the dog in the first picture.

Yes, was wondering if it was a Euro car, seeing the door mirrors on it. Owned my '85 Z51 for 29 years. Wish I hadn't sold it. Only did because I bought a C6 and it wasn't getting used much. I prefer the early L98 cars.

Yes I can understand that regret selling it when owned for so long. I also had a c6 z06 for four years and car was not for sale but was offered over the odds for the car and let it go. Regretted letting it go as learned was written off three month after. Dog in first picture is part of reasons not going to shows as no way is he going in the back of it!

I must admit that I much prefer the US mirrors than the Euro spec ones.
I agree but at least they will fold in if hit unlike USA spec ones!. As euro spec also has no switch in console to switch from imperial to metric which makes it quite rare.

Was thinking of selling it and backing it out of garage one day when the bin men arrived. The 6ft something Polish guy with the tattoos said he loved it and asked how much it was. Two days later there's a knock on the door and its him and his son and a bag of cash. Didn't even want a test drive. So a painless/no messing sale. :)
